YumeTwins is a monthly Kawaii subscription brought to you by the same people behind TokyoTreat. Every month, you’ll receive an assortment of super cute and adorable kawaii products from Japan which might include accessories, plushies, figures, keychains, stationeries, and other collectibles. All items are licensed merchandise from popular Japanese brands. The box is $35 per month.

DEAL: Use coupon code HELLOSUBS at checkout to save 10% ($3.50) on your first box!

Here’s a peek on what’s going on inside the box. There is a Reward Catalog 2018 mini mag and some toys on the side!

The items are individually wrapped in plastic.

The theme for this box is Happy Zoo Year!

Here’s a short overview of this month’s theme and what to expect from the box.

Inside the magazine is a list of items with pictures and brief descriptions.

This month’s featured item is the Medetai Chopping Board and Kitchen Sponge! You can also take a photo of it with your YumeTwins box for this month’s photo contest.

Everything in the January 2019 YumeTwins Box!

Aggretsuko Plushie. This Sanrio character really rocks! Aggretsuko is short for Aggressive Retsuko. She’s an anthromorphic red panda and she is well loved because she has a relatable story. Aggretsuko is a company worker by day and she goes to the karaoke bar every night to release her work-related stress.

The plushie toy really gets the likeness of the character, even to the last detail of its tail.

The embroidery details are good. It does look a bit scary up close, but we don’t mind because it’s Aggretsuko! If you haven’t seen the eponymous animated series, you should give it a try. It’s on Netflix, by the way.

Medetai Kitchen Sponge. They sent us a fishy friend to accompany us in our cleaning after all the festivities and parties.

This sponge has a lot of layers to effectively clean everything.

It can be very random to send a sponge in a cute anime-centered subscription box but they also sent a chopping board with the same fishy theme so at least they make a cohesive pair.

Big Sanrio Stickers. We’ve declared our love for Gudetama so many times, so we’re happy to get a bunch of Gudetama stickers from Sanrio for this month! Subscribers might get the sticker set in other designs such as My Melody and Pompompurin.

The stickers come in three different designs. They can be a good decor for books or trading stickers for collectors.

It’s so cute! I’m jealous of all the sleeping though.

Medetai Chopping Board. It’s a lightweight chopping board, shaped and designed like a fish!

It’s easy to use and easy to clean using the sponge which was also included in this box. It bends easily to dump goodies right into your ramen!

Kawaii Zodiac Boar Blanket. This blanket will keep us warm this season. I love the refreshing color too!

Its size is perfect to put on your lap or to wrap your shoulders.

The blanket has cute little boar design which is a nod for the zodiac sign of 2019.

Kawaii Scrunchie & Badge Set. This set includes a scrunchie you can use to keep your hair in place and a cute matching badge. Subscribers will get one out of six designs. We received Sumikkogurashi!

At the back of the packaging, there is some illustration on how to use the items.

I love the pastel colors on the scrunchie!

The badge features characters from Sumikkogurashi including Neko, Tonkatsu, and Tokage.

The scrunchie comes with a ball chain, so we can attach it to a bag or anywhere we won’t easily lose it.

As usual, the box is overflowing with kawaii items. Some items can be very random, but they still gave us a wide range of things. I’ve seen better items in this subscription but I’m not sad about this month because we have a useful blanket to keep us warm and to give us good luck for 2019. We also have a cute scrunchie and a badge we can attach to a bag. Plus we got Sanrio goodies! Our Aggretsuko rock star plushie and Gudetama stickers are a welcome addition. The fish chopping board and sponge can look out of place but at least they can be very handy when you prepping lunch. Looking forward to the next month!
