Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription for men. In every shipment, you’ll receive 3-4 sample items that are smaller versions of what you can order from the Birchbox site. There are two versions – Birchbox Man Plus for $20 per month that includes a full-size lifestyle item, or regular Birchbox Man for $10 per month with no lifestyle item.
This is a review of the Birchbox Man Plus $20 per month box.
The lifestyle item often doesn’t fit in the sample box.
Birchbox has always been about the samples, so if you are a stickler for calculating in-box value, you’ll have to do some math to figure the per ounce value. The cards show the price for the full-size version of the included items — they are available on the Birchbox site. You can see your box at birchbox.com/mybox.
The box also contains a special card for BirchBox Man tips and life hacks.
The info card identifies the 5 samples in the box. It lists the price of the full-size version available on the Birchbox site, plus a brief tip on proper use.
Here’s everything in my November 2018 box.
Aetheroxide Aether ($4) Make the most out of the 2ml sample and spray this modern masculine combo scent of cedar, rose and musk to wrist, neck and behind ears.
Hims Sleep Dietary Supplement ($14 Full-Size 60 gummies – 10 in this pack, $2.33) No more restless nights! This dietary supplement has melatonin combined with chamomile and L-theanine that give you a much-needed sleep. It comes in chewable gummies that you can take up to three a night, thirty minutes before bedtime.
It’s free of gluten, artificial flavors, or sweeteners. Melatonin works great for me to help reset when I’m stressed.
Kiehl’s Age Defender Eye Repair ($6) Kiehl’s has always been a trusted skincare brand. This eye repair treatment has mineral optical diffusers that reduce dark circles and brighten the under eye areas. The key ingredients of vitamin C, linseed extract and caffeine make sure that the product firms, lifts and diminish puffy eye bags and dark circles.
Beau Brummell Charcoal Face Wash ($1.58) It’s a purifying and deep cleanser that has activated charcoal. It removes the dirt and grime without stripping the skin of its natural oils. It also has hyaluronic acid that retains the skin’s moisture. Use twice a day and be sure to massage into face and neck before rinsing.
Blind Barber Pomade ($2) This is a high-hold paste that gives your hair natural-looking hold. It has a protein-rich, natural thickening agent and a dandruff-fighting antiseptic that makes this pomade top-notch and effective.
To use, just apply the mixture of a dime-sized dollop with a splash of water and work into the damp towel-dried hair from roots to ends to have even coverage and maximum control.
Journeymen Deodorant Stick ($18) Aluminum-free and paraben-free, this deodorant offers odor protection. with the use of natural extracts and essential oils. Key ingredients include soothing aloe and chamomile.
It comes as a plus in this month’s box! The cypress and cedar scent is not overpowering. Also, it doesn’t leave a sticky residue and it’s perfect for me.
We are given the grooming essentials for this month and it seems all the samples are color coordinated too! I received a cologne, face wash, antiaging eye cream, pomade and a full sized plus product of natural deodorant which is a necessity rather than an indulgence nowadays. Definitely got my wish for a full-size grooming item for the Plus part of the box – I think this is a great development and hoping they’ll do it more frequently!
