Birchbox Man is a monthly grooming and lifestyle subscription for men. In every shipment, you’ll receive 3-4 sample items that are smaller versions of what you can order from the Birchbox site. There are two versions – Birchbox Man Plus for $20 per month that includes a full-size lifestyle item, or regular Birchbox Man for $10 per month with no lifestyle item.
This is a review of the Birchbox Man Plus $20 per month box.
The lifestyle item often doesn’t fit in the sample box.
Birchbox has always been about the samples, so if you are a stickler for calculating in-box value, you’ll have to do some math to figure the per ounce value. The cards show the price for the full-size version of the included items — they are available on the Birchbox site. You can see your box at birchbox.com/mybox.
The box also contains a special card for BirchBox Man tips and life hacks.
The info card identifies the 5 samples in the box. It lists the price of the full-size version available on the Birchbox site, plus a brief tip on proper use.
Here’s everything in my October 2018 box.
TRNDlabs Wall Charger ($20) It’s a wall charger that can accommodate multiple devices at a time!
A 1-year warranty coupon and a wall charger user guide is included in the box.
It contains IC Smart Chips that prevents the gadgets from overcharging.
It features four USB ports. One of the ports also offers fast charging speed.
It has a slim design, leaving other outlets free to use. The charger is so handy because it’s compatible with most smartphones, power banks, and other USB devices. I happily selected this as my lifestyle item – we never have enough charging ports!
Clean Reserve Sel Santal Eau De Parfum ($1.39) This perfume boasts a perfect balance of freshness and warmth with a woody floral scent.
It’s a long-lasting scent with notes of bergamot, mandarin leaves, and nutmeg enhanced with salted fig and hazelnut cream.
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 in Natural Mint & Shea Butter ($3) This hydrating balm contains shea butter, vitamin E, and green tea which moisturizes the lips while providing antioxidants and reduce inflammation. It’s the ideal lip balm to soothe and protect your dry, chapped, irritated lips. It’s minty, too – always a plus!
Brothers Artisan Oil Deodorant Stick in Fir Needle & Cedar ($1.60) Made with natural ingredients like magnesium, organic arrowroot powder, and kaolin clay, this deodorant provides an extreme odor control and wetness absorption that will keep you fresh all day long.
This deodorant features a twist tube container. It’s easy to bring on the go but not the easiest to use! I’d be ok with a full-size deodorant as a lifestyle item with this subscription.
Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub ($2.94) Men need to exfoliate too, and this scrub is one of the best out there as it is packed with skin-smoothing apricot scrub particles and an energizing boost of caffeine with menthol. It leaves skin soft and supple.
V76 By Vaughn Hydrating Shampoo ($2.37) This rich shampoo contains almond butter, sage leaf extract, chamomile, and vitamin E that provides moisture and hydrates the scalp to restore the hair’s natural elasticity. It smells wonderful!
Birchbox Man really does understand the needs of men. They’ve been so consistent in sending out healthy and stylish items useful for men, and with all these essentials I received this month it will be easy to revamp my routine for fall. Plus, having the lifestyle add-on option keeps this subscription more exciting, but I’d be happy with a full-size grooming product selection too. With the grooming and lifestyle items worth about $31 for a $20 box subscription, it’s really a good deal!
