Snailbox is a monthly subscription box that sends out fun, unique, and artisanal quality greeting cards from independent artists and small stationery companies around the world. Each month, Snailbox features different artists, and their curators create a collection of four greeting cards, envelopes seals, and USPS stamps which they wrap up in a pretty package. The subscription costs $20 per month, with free shipping within the US.

Look at how neatly everything is packaged together.

The back of the card has some info about the subscription. The featured artist for this month is Hammerpress from Kansas.

The cards are secured by a striped string.

Everything in the box!

Forever Stamps. And we got stamps!

These lovely delicate cut-out stamps are the perfect accompaniment for our cards! They are in the style of Papel picado (pierced paper) from Mexico!

Celebrate any festive occasion with Colorful Celebrations, a new stamp issuance from the U.S. Postal Service. This booklet of 20 First-Class Mail® Forever stamps includes 10 digitally created designs with eye-popping patterns that showcase geometric shapes, flowers, and birds. The stamp designs come in one of four colors: blue, orange, purple, and fuchsia. Papel picado, an intricate art form that was developed in Mexico, inspired artist Atzin Gaytan’s digitally made stamp art. The Spanish term papel picado translates to “pierced paper.” Sally Andersen-Bruce designed the stamps. Derry Noyes served as the project’s art director.

I happened to get an email about these stamps a few days after receiving this mailing!

Stickers. The stickers have random designs. All of them, except for the smallest sticker, feature women in the designs.

Favorite Letterpress Happy Father’s Day Greeting Card. This design includes all the terms of endearment we can use to call our fathers and they come in different fonts too.

It’s handmade in Chicago, Illinois.

There’s a short message printed inside the card, but there’s still lots of space for you to write a personal message.

Hammerpress Happiness Postcard. It has a lot of details going on, but it does not come off too distracting. The card also features a quote you can use to cheer up a friend or a loved one.

You can also write a short message at the back of the postcard. There are already lines for the address and a corner for the stamp.

The cards and their respective envelopes are within sealed plastics with labels. They are letterpressed on recycled paper in Kansas City, Missouri!

Hammerpress Happy Birthday Beautiful Greeting Card. It’s an armor-shaped birthday card with an artsy feel. I like all the details, like the lines and colors!

There’s the logo of the maker at the back of the card. I feel like whoever receives this card might wear it as a badge! I would!

Hammerpress OMG Thx. The texture makes you pay attention to the little designs because you can feel every detail. Perfect for a thank you!

The company’s logo on the back came from the same color scheme at the front.

Snailbox did a great job this month. I’m impressed with the letterpress greeting cards because it has a different texture and feel from the usual ones. I appreciate the distinct approach to typography and design which makes the old school method modern and relatable. It will definitely motivate the young generation in keeping the love for snail mail too. The stickers and stamps are great inclusions too and really match the theme! All of these for $20 is totally worth it, especially as I get to explore new letterpress artisans!
