STRONG self(ie) is a quarterly subscription box that helps empower young girls to be their best self! There are two boxes to choose from: the BLOOM(box) is for girls ages 8-12 and the BURST(box) is for girls ages 13-17. I have a 14-year-old daughter, who helped me review the BURST(box)!

So much more than a quarterly subscription box – STRONG self(ie) is building up a community of STRONG girls by delivering handpicked items that are purposeful, positive, and powerful.

Every STRONG self(ie) box features trendy products that represent the four corners of self(ie) strength, and includes an inspirational message for girls, along with an envelope of resources for parents.

You will receive 4-6 of our favorite seasonal products that we think support strong girls. Our goal with each box is to provide you with a meaningful, inspiring message to help you be your STRONG-est self(ie)!

First look!

DEAL: Get 20% off your first box! Use coupon code Hello20.

There were two envelopes inside, one for parents and one for the intended recipient of the box.

There was some info for parents on how to use to nominate a STRONG girl to be featured in their #beyondthebox campaign.

Next was a product info card showing which core strength each item enhances. STRONG self(ie) hopes to encourage girls with items that promote four self(ie) strengths: health(ie), smart(ie), funn(ie), and beaut(ie).

There were four inspirational cards that you can slip into your daughter’s backpack, place next to her sink, or prop on her pillow.

My daughter received her own envelope. The back of Karina’s card had the same info about the products as shown in the parent’s card above. It also had a cute message graphic that introduced the #beyondthebox mission.

There were four Kindness Cards, which are meant to be given away to friends to help make their day.

There were a few coupon codes and more info about some of the items.

Karina couldn’t wait for me to open this box! She was so happy with the products and said “it’s like they knew exactly what I needed!”

Katie Loxton Fabulous Friend Pouch ($25) I have to confess that sometimes I want some of (OK, most of) the items in my daughter’s box. Take this pouch, for example. It is just beautiful, so simple and brightly colored and a generous 9″ x 6″ size makes it bigger than the usual makeup bag. It has “fabulous friend” in gold lettering on the front.

Other gold-tone details include this zipper pull and zipper.

The inside is fabric-lined. Karina is on her school’s dance team and immediately filled the bag with her makeup items. She was able to go from 2 smaller bags to this one bag for her haul.

Lovely Candy Company Honey Gummy Bears ($5.99) Honey is the first ingredient in this popular snack.

I was also happy to see that these get their color from natural sources and not artificial chemicals. Karina loved them!

Sub Urban Riot Graphic T-Shirt ($38) This is an exclusive shirt for subscribers only but there are other shirts with a variety of graphics on the Sub_Urban Riot website. It is a polyester/cotton/rayon blend and is soft and cute plus the message is positive.

Hmm, what’s in here?

Eye products! Karina was so happy because she said she really needed a mascara and I think this is her first ever eyelash curler.

Almay Thickening Mascara ($8.95) looks like a classic mascara and is in the shade “Blackest Black.” This mascara is safe for those with sensitive eyes and for contact wearers. Karina wears contacts so that was a big plus.

I have never seen a rainbow-colored eyelash curler but now I want one too! I found a similar one here from Amazon for $10.99.

It has a pad for cushioning the lashes and is just too cute.

Kelly Reif Stationery Studio Notepad ($6?) I couldn’t find this notepad but you can have your own notepads custom-made at this website. I love making notes and to-do lists and get a satisfying feeling when I get to check off one of the boxes. My daughter also likes for me to break tasks down into steps so maybe I can make a room-cleaning checklist and see if she will tidy up her nest.

Bold Bandz Double Skinny Headband ($8.99?) It looks like this headband style is new but the classic thicker headbands are available.

These headbands are adjustable for all head sizes and have velvet on the inside to keep them comfortable against the skin. Again, a very useful item for my dancer daughter or for anyone who is active, or even just for holding hair back when cleaning the face or using a mask.

STRONG self(ie) BURST(box) is my 14-year-old daughter’s favorite box and she is always thrilled when it comes in the mail! She thinks that the women behind STRONG self(ie) are psychic because they always seem to send stuff she needs and surprises that she adores. Each item was perfect for the intended age group and I love that the colors are so pretty without being zebra-striped or pink, not that those are bad colors or prints but every young woman is different and I think STRONG self(ie) celebrates that. The value was pretty awesome too, around $103.92! STRONG self(ie) puts a lot of thought and care into this subscription and it shows.
