Everything in my box! I love tea and couldn’t wait to get my steep on! Is that a phrase? If not, it is now!

There were a couple of cards in my box with info on membership perks. I was happy to see that my teas were organic and fair trade.

Brunch in Paris Black Tea “Our fresh, flavorful blend of chocolate orange tea.”

This blend is made up of black tea, Honeybush tea, cocoa nibs, orange pieces, and orange essence. Honeybush is a cousin of rooibos and provides heartiness without caffeine, although the black tea provides that particular boost. This blend smells just like a chocolate orange and had a mild, sweet flavor. I added sugar and milk to offset the black tea’s bitterness.

Cinnamon Cider Chai Tea wasn’t available for sell but is perfect for fall!

Black tea, rooibos, and apple pieces are flavored with classic chai spices of ginger, cinnamon, clove, and cardamom. Orange peel and apple essence add a burst of fruity flavor. I steeped this as a traditional tea as opposed to brewing it the chai way with milk. It tasted like a spicy apple cider along with a tannic twang from the black tea, which plays a supporting role here.

I received a sample of Reading Nook Blend Black Tea. I loved the description from the Plum Deluxe website:

The reading nook blend is our signature organic tea created for enjoying while perfecting some of our dearest passions: reading, writing, and enjoying conversation with friends.

One needs a touch of caffeine to keep the conversation flowing, the pages turning, or the pen on the move, so we start this blend with a wonderful cream black tea. We then added rosebuds for creativity and sustenance, lavender for flavor and aroma, and top it off with a bit of chamomile which adds a calming balance to it all. Customers often tell us this is our prettiest tea!

It is pretty! Black tea, rosebuds, lavender, and chamomile combine for a combo that is stimulating and relaxing at the same time! The flavor was of strong black tea with floral nuances. Milk and sugar balanced it nicely.

I enjoyed all of my Plum Deluxe Teas! I usually drink black tea so it was nice to have a mid-afternoon pick me up with less caffeine, thanks to the rooibos in the first two blends. If you avoid caffeine, then you can note that on the signup form. Plum Deluxe gives 1% back to the community each year to help make the world a better place! Plum Deluxe also offers two additional ways to subscribe: you can sign up for a quarterly box of mystery items or sign up to receive your favorite tea(s) every month.
