RawSpiceBar‘s May Theme is here: The Burmese Flavor Kit!

DEAL: $5 off your first subscription or any gift subscription order! Use Coupon Code HELLOSPICE (FIRST MONTH $3!)

Burmese food, like most cuisines, combines flavors from many regional parts, and is uniquely dominated by a combination of strong, sweet and savory flavors, without being sweet or spicy. Rice is the cornerstone of many diets and is often eaten as noodles or rice cakes. We’ve included RawSpiceBar’s Lemongrass Rub, for making ginger sliders or zucchini or rice coconut milk noodle bowls.

Myanmar is also known for its famous fermented tea leaf salad (or “lahpet thoke”, in Burmese), a recipe we’ve included in this month’s box with our Tea Leaf Rub. Lahpet, which means “green tea”, and thoke, which means “salad” combines fermented green tea leaves with fried garlic, peanuts, sesame seeds and shredded cabbage for a delicious treat found all over the country. We also love this rub with salmon or tofu. Enjoy this month’s kit and, as always, tag #rawspicebar and @rawspicebar with your dishes!
