Literary Vacation Club is a subscription that sends one to two books + items to tantalize all 5 senses. Each box also comes with bonus bookish goodies. This box covers all genres, except for Horror, Poetry, and Erotica. Prices range $14.99 to $29.99.

My earth friendly side loves that all the packing products are recycled from other subscription boxes. There is a letter explaining why the CEO does this and that no two boxes will be packaged the same but will, of course, have only the best products to heighten your reading experience.

For this month’s theme we have: Norse Mythology.

A list of questions that will be posted on their Facebook page in order for all to discuss. I love this idea for adding a little more depth and thought to a book, it also helps if you missed an underlying detail or two. Also included is a little list of what may be found in my box.

Closing out the pamphlet is a note from the owner, Ashley Nestler. She thanks subscribers and also shares that each box that is ordered helps support Knitted Knockers, an organization for women with breast cancer. I love when I can get something for myself and still help a great cause.

To See

Nordic Art Print, the raven is an important symbol in Norse Mythology and is connected to Odin. The ravens are Odin’s ears in the world bringing him all the information he needs in order to rule. Lord of the Rings Stickers by Beloved by HIM. These adorable stickers inspired by the books which are heavily influenced by Norse Mythology are sure to brighten up calendars and planners or even a notebook.

Bonus Item: Thor Magnetic Bookmark by Kaelis Accessories. This bookmark is so cute even though Thor is a little more feminine than masculine in my opinion. Having a magnetic bookmark is great because they don’t hang out of your book or tear pages if caught on something else.

To Touch

An accessory bag with a simple silver leaf charm. This bag is the perfect size for pens, pencils, makeup or even sunglasses. I like the flowers that make me feel like it was made just for me.

To Taste

Bonne Maman Raspberry & Redcurrant Preserves and Graham Crackers. I took a big bite out of a cracker and was very disappointed with the dry and almost tastelessness of the cracker, Graham crackers are my favorite normally. The preserves, on the other hand, deserve to be savored with a hot homemade biscuit it’s so delicious.

Crocheted Lothlorien Leaf Badge by Crocheted Candy. This adorable Lothlorein Leaf Badge keychain by Crocheted Candy is based on Lord of the Rings and it will help you keep a bit of that magic with you wherever you go.

To Smell

Scented Wax Melt by Antiquity & Illusion. These are concentrated packs of spice scent and just taking a whiff from the bag will make your eyes water but when melted they will give your space a nice comforting aroma. I’m looking forward to seeing how long the scent lasts compared to candle store brands.

Elsker by S.T. Bende ($11.99)

**The internationally bestselling series!**

Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs. But when she transfers from her one-stoplight Oregon town to Cardiff University in Wales, she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn’t exactly what she was expecting. Ull is an honest-to-goodness Norse god — an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. When someone starts asking the wrong questions, Kristia realizes the crazy visions she’s had all her life might be the key to saving their realms… even if they end up costing her her life. Her orderly world just got very messy. (Elsker: The Elsker Saga, Book One)

I’m very much looking forward to embarking on this other realms journey to saving earth and themselves. I will also say that I’m so glad I received the first book in the series instead of the last or a middle book, which has happened to me a few times. I’m not sure who is more excited to read this book, my daughter, husband or myself.

A bookmark that matches my new book, this makes my overly matching self very happy. It also tells you how to get your hands on more books by the featured author.

On the flip side, we have the very good looking main character and the author’s signature!

A signed waffle recipe! I can’t wait to try these for dinner one night with a nice side of bacon. The recipe looks easy enough for a child to make while still sounding like a delectable treat.

Tur: The Elsker Saga by S.T. Bende ($5.99)

An Upper Young Adult Urban Fantasy Novella:

Inga Andersson is the envy of every girl in Asgard. On the surface she has it all — great friends, a job as Odin’s personal fight choreographer, and a happy ever after with her realm’s hottest assassin. But when evil invades Asgard, her perfect world comes crashing down. Someone is planning to kill off the gods, and Inga’s best friend Ull is first on their list. With the Norse apocalypse a nanosecond away, Inga has to decide how she’ll spend her final moments of freedom. Because from the moment this battle begins, Inga’s happily ever after will be nothing more than a memory.

Some things are worth fighting for.

TUR is an Elsker Saga novella. It is approximately 10,000 words long, and is a sweet urban fanatsy.

Short stories are the greatest way to decide if you’re going to like a certain style of writing. I look forward to spending a few moments getting to know and hopefully love S.T. Bende.

To Hear

Literary Vacation box has compiled two playlists to go along with Elsker and Tur! Visit literaryvacationclub.com and click on “book playlists” to access. The playlist will be titled after the books.

Literary Vacation Club is unique because they take all five senses for a trip. I love that all the items are tied so well together. I am fascinated to read a new author and to learn a bit more about Norse Mythology. The biggest selling point to me is that my entire family was able to bring their knowledge of mythology to the table and come up with different ways to make it relatable to themselves. I absolutely love that this subscription is trying to make an environmentally acceptable path by recycling, reusing and reducing packing materials. I’m looking forward to making my house smell great while I cook up waffles and read my new books.
