From Japan Crate comes Kira Kira Crate, a box dedicated to Japanese beauty! Kira Kira means “to sparkle” and with this box full of makeup, skincare, and other tools from Japan, you will sparkle as well! I’ve always loved Japanese cosmetics, but they are extremely pricey. Even the drugstore lines, adorable as they are, are costly to import. There have been a few boxes that have tried to do a J-beauty box, but it really is cost prohibitive, so I’m very excited to see what Kira Kira Crate has in store!

DEALS: Save $3 on your first box! Use coupon code HELLO.

The booklet included with the box has a brief welcome letter, a list of the products included, and additional pages give English instructions for each product.

Choosy Lip Mask We were sent a Choosy lip mask in the first Kira Kira and I liked it then and I like it now. It really softens my lips in the cold winter. It looks silly on, though!

Pure Smile Mask There’s always a mask in Kira Kira and I like the Pure Smile line a lot. They fit my face well and aren’t too drippy.

Mippu Nama Oil-Free Toner We were sent a very large bottle of this oil-free toner. I have dry skin so I can’t use this, but I know someone who can so it will find a home!

Bath Soak This is a bath soak, aka my favourite thing ever. All my favourite bath soaks come from Japan so I can’t wait to have a hot bath on a cold night.

Delicious Lip Cream OMG, this is amazing. It tastes like chocolate covered strawberries and is so smooth and hydrating. I love it.

Pink Liquid Liner I wouldn’t normally wear pink eyeliner… but this looks fun! Swatches below.

PGT Eyeshadow Quad I died when I saw the rose gold shade in this quad!

Here is everything out of its package.

THAT ROSE GOLD THOUGH.

This is my favorite Kira Kira Crate so far! Aside from the toner which I can’t use myself, I loved everything else and thought there was a great variety of items. I love the lip balm and eyeshadow palette and am excited for the bath soak and another Choosy lip mask!

    Hey Valerie !
thanks so much for the follow-up! Looks like it is juuuuust over EUR22 so I might dodge the bullet … Although if they mark it “gift” I think it can go up to EUR 45 … Got an email today that my crate has been shipped, so we’ll wait with bated breath haha!!

Hi Wendy! Just wanted to follow up as I received my April box today. The value was declared as 2500Y (yen). They also mark it as “gift” which sometimes can help. It looks like with today’s exchange rates you should be okay. 🙂

    hi Valerie

just stumbled upon your blogpost about the kira kira crate (saw it mentioned on reddit/Asian beauty ).. So I’m guessing the price is in USD? Can you remember if they list the full subscription price on the customs sticker? I live in the Netherlands, and anything over EUR 22 might get subjected to taxes etc. Before I sign up, I want to make sure I’m not going to get “punished” by the postal services/tax people, you know?

BTW jealous of your living in/near Vancouver. Such an amazing place! *sigh*

    all the best
    Wendy

I can’t remember but I believe it was declared in Yen which would be converted to your own currency. We have similar strict customs issues in Canada but I have never had to pay duty or taxes for any of the subscription boxes I’ve received. And I’m nearing my 300th review, so… that’s a lot!
