Beauteque offers two subscriptions featuring Asian beauty products delivered to your door monthly. Products include makeup, skin care, body care, and more. For $22 per month, your BB Bag comes with 6-8 full-size products. If you like masks, the Mask Maven subscription brings you 9-11 various masks monthly starting at $14.

Clean Slate: End of the Year Skin Cleanse. Last month, Beauteque provided products to keep skin looking its best during the cold. This month, we are doing a cleanse and starting off with a clean slate. Resolutions, anyone?

DEALS: You can save 10% on the BB bag or Mask Maven with coupon code CRATEJOY10.

The fold out card has information on each of the products and basic how-to-use directions. Pricing for products varied across sites. The prices listed below are those of Beauteque unless otherwise noted.

Here’s your start to a Clean Slate, the December Beauteque BB bag!

Holika Holika | Pig Nose Clear Steam Starter ($12.00): Although this says “pig nose” you can use this anywhere on your face where you have blackheads or are oily. This contains kaolin and Moroccan lava clay to draw out impurities and absorb oil. I don’t have a blackhead problem, so I can’t comment there. However, I can tell you that this did a good job of removing the excess oil from my T-zone and that I liked the lemon scent.

Tsaio | Charcoal Deep Purifying Cleanser ($14.00): Scrubbie not included. LOL. This cleanser contains bamboo charcoal to cleanse the skin. I thought it did a good job without drying my face. I’ve received several Tsaio products before, and they all seem to focus on deep cleaning or acne treatment. This is showing at $11.99 on the Beauteque site.

Scinic | All Day Fine Pore Control Toner ($21.99): This is a multi-purpose toner. It controls oils, tightens pores, soothes irritated skin, and moisturizes. To do all this, the formula contains a mix of apple extract, green tea, aloe, and grapefruit extract just to name a few ingredients. This dried my skin a little bit, but definitely gave me a sense of deep toning. I think this is a good toner for me to use during breakouts. Just make sure to shake before use – I noticed some sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

Holika Holika | Golden Monkey Lip Patch ($6.99): I’ve used lip patches before, but this takes the cake. The 3-step combo is designed to exfoliate, plump, and moisturize your lips. I can’t wait to try this out!

Kinepin | Wheet Feet Stone ($8.00): A tool to help rough feet get smooth; combination of pumice stone and foot brush. This is currently $4.99 in the Beautque shop.

VOV | Color Song Eyes – 7162 Rose Garden ($5.50): Shades varied by box. I received a peachy-pink eyeshadow. The plant-derived formula was created with sensitive eyes in mind. It contains meadow foam seed oil to mimic skin’s natural oils for moisturization. Tip from Beauteque – to make the color appear brighter, use a we brush or finger when applying.  Beauteque has this at $10.99 on its site.

The color is a little light for me and not as pigmented as I like. The top swatch is straight out of the container, and the bottom is with a little primer underneath. I didn’t try this wet.

Here’s the actual BB bag. I can’t say that I’m too impressed. The nylon bag reminded me of my travel first aid kit or the front of a bum pack.

Here’s a look at the inside.

Using the prices found on the Beauteque shop, December’s Beauteque BB Bag is valued at $69. I think the prices for the Kinepin pumice/brush and eyeshadows were swapped on the information card. I’m excited to try the Holika Holika lip patch and really like the Tsaio cleanser. I hope next month’s bag is prettier; I actually look forward to them.

On a side note: Before trying any Asian cosmetic subscription, expect that most information on the package will be in the native language. That said, more and more brands are including directions/ingredients in English, and information can also be found in English on the majority of brands’ websites (you may have to choose a brand’s global or US site). Secondly, a large number of products focus on brightening or whitening the skin. As a person of color, I have not seen my skin color change. Instead, I’ve experienced that my skin tone gets evened out after prolonged use. However, your results may be different. And lastly, many products contain ingredients which are animal-derived, so these may not be an option if you are vegan. You can also check out cosDNA.com to see if the ingredients for the product are listed there.
