I’m reviewing the November box which featured oriental fragrances. Perfume Surprise decants authentic perfume into the vials and each one holds 2.5ml. They were also clearly marked on top which is very helpful. Sephora places their samples in little bags that I end up throwing away and then I can’t remember which is which.

Calvin Klein Euphoria Blossom (75¢ value) is an oriental floral with notes of citrus, peony, and white musk.

Antonio Banderas Her Secret (45¢ value) is also an oriental floral with notes of tuberose and vanilla and surprised me by being my favorite from this month’s selections! I like sweet scents and this was sweetly fruity.

Bvlgari Omnia Crystalline ($4.13 value) is a floral aquatic that smells clean and fresh and has notes of Asian pear and lotus blossom.

Paco Rabanne Olympea ($3.75 value) is an oriental floral that is in honor of a “Greek modern goddess” with notes of green mandarin, ginger lily, and sandalwood. It is sweet and another great discovery!

Burberry Brit ($4 value) is a floral fruity, which is one of my favorite types of scent. This has notes of almond, pear, and lemon and was perfect for work.

I had only tried one of these scents before (I usually go for niche fragrances) so four were all new to me. As with other designer fragrances, what you spray is what you get. The longevity was short but I didn’t have anyone complain that my fragrance was too strong or smelly. Plus, I found a few new favorites!

There was a pretty little box that made me feel like I was opening a present!

Ooh, I wonder what’s inside this nicely wrapped gift?

It’s a bracelet! This reminded me of those necklaces from Origami Owl where you place little charms inside that represent your life. You have to unclasp the lobster claws that are attached to the locket to open it up and then replace when filled. The locket had rhinestones around the edge and was silver-toned. I would say I have big bones and had no problem fitting this around my wrist. You can find similar empty “floating locket bracelets” on Etsy for $3.99 here.

It just dawned on me that the charms matched the perfume theme! Oriental, get it? There was a traditional shirt, two Buddhas, a yin-yang symbol, a heart, and a rhinestone. You can find similar charms on Etsy for about $1 each.

Perfume Surprise was a nice way to try a variety of scents along with a pretty piece of jewelry! I like that there was a theme and admired that the bracelet carried through on that theme. As for the value, the perfumes were worth around $13.08 and the jewelry around $10, or $23.08 for all of the items. This falls short of the $29.99 subscription price and well below the $65 promised value. I don’t mind too much that the perfumes are not quite up to value since other perfume services also run low (such as on Scentbird), but the other services generally offer a credit towards the purchase of a full-sized bottle of perfume. Still, I enjoyed trying 5 scents that I probably wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Plus, the packaging was adorable and I felt like I was opening a present, which is always a nice thing to do.

What do you think of Perfume Surprise? December’s theme is “Winter” and will feature scents from Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Dior, Elizabeth Taylor, and Thierry Mugler.

    Good afternoon

I would like to common on your total price on the perfume suprise box
First if I calculate you estimate on the Antonio Bandera for $0.45 worth for 2,5ml, than a 100ml would cost me only $ $ 18.The same for the Calvin Klein you estimate it $0.75 for 2.5ml, so the cost of a 100ml is $30.
I went browsing and couldn’t find these prices.
Second you mentioned the beautifull package, the jewelbox and the 2.5 ml vials, also cost money, which you haven’t calculate in the price
Third is the free shipping which need to be calculated too.

I’m a fan of the perfume suprise subscription box, and have a 6 month supscription, I already received 3 boxes and loved, loved the idea , and most of all as you mentioned yourself, I received perfumes that I never hadtried before and perhaps would have never think about buying them, But with this subscription idea box, I’m glad, I can try out a lot more perfume .

I also love the fact that they have open there shop, where I can purchase a extra 10ml of the perfumes that I’ve tried out in a very beautifull bottle that you can easy carry in your purse.

The one thing I can agree with you is having an discount coupon to use toward purcahsing from there shop

Astrid, thank you so much for taking the time to read the post and for your comments! If you click on the individual perfumes, it will take you directly to the link of where I found my values. For instance, the Antonio Banderas is sold in a 2.7 ounce bottle, which is around 80ml, for $14 on Amazon. A bottle of approximately 100ml of Calvin Klein Euphoria Blossom is $30 total on Overstock. com. As for the packaging and “jewel box”, they are simply paper and not of any value once opened. I shipped a huge box of items the other day and only paid $11 for two day shipping, and this is significantly smaller. The bracelet and charms are very low value and available on Etsy. I stand by my review, that the items did not meet the promised $65 value. That doesn’t mean I didn’t like the box or contents, just that they did not send items that met the promised value. I actually liked this box, but I think they should remove the wording “worth $65”. I am so glad that you love your subscription Astrid, and that is priceless! Thank you again for your comments!
