The Hippie Hobby is a bi-monthly craft subscription box. In every box you’ll receive a complete crafting kit, which incorporates recycled, upcycled, or natural elements (the “Hippie” part!). Every box also includes a surprise DIY craft project with an upcycled, recycled or natural twist!
The first look in my box and I love the green paper. This is such a natural-looking packaging.
The information sheet is a folded paper and the front has a great picture of the products included. This month we are making some greeting cards! I was beyond excited when I saw this since I’m a huge paper crafter and this one is right up my alley.
The information card provided the instructions for the craft and is in full color with complete instructions. The printing on this is high quality.
DEAL: You can save $7 on your first box with coupon code HELLO!
Everything that is in the box. I love how they use shredded papers as their box fillers since it is a great upcycled use for old papers.
The little pink organza bag included all the smaller embellishments and adhesives that we will use on the project.
All of the completed cards. I’m not a huge fan of my own handwriting but I know that in years to come the kids and family will love to see it.
First up are the all occasion cards. I love the idea of using buttons as balloons. I love using buttons and this is a great idea for them.I’m going to take this idea and use it on other cards and scrapbooking pages.
These are very timely and I love them!!! These are great ideas and a great way to use up leftover papers and embellishments. It won’t take a ton of leftover to make a great card. In their example, they used the burlap ribbon on the packaging to create bows for the packages but I am horrible with boys so I opted to use some of the other extras o create toppers for my packages.
The extra craft this month is to make some tags for the holidays. The Hippie Hobby sent tons of extra materials so the boys and I will work on this as we are wrapping things up in the coming weeks.
Look at all of these extra leftover pieces. These will make some great tags for our packages. I love wrapping in craft paper so these will really pop and stand out on top of them.
I loved the craft this month and making the cards. I’m a firm believer in sending real cards in the mail to people so this is something that is so perfect for my family. Everyone loves to get mail and we don’t get nearly enough good mail in our mailboxes anymore. I will admit I do sometimes get caught up in the creation of the cards and using all the new products that I have but I need to make a more conscious effort to use up my scraps and make some more cards.
