Toyfit: Tailored Educational Toys for Your Kids is a monthly subscription that sends educational toys and books to your home that have been selected especially for your child! Along with quality toys and books, parents receive information relating to skills that the included toys nurture, activity ideas for parent and child to do together and developmental milestones that children may be reaching. Toyfit carries a number of high quality brands including HABA, GreenToys, Lego, Kid O, Melissa and Doug, Leap Frog, Alex, Learning Resources, 4M, Mindware, VTech, GameWright and Thinkfun.

When you sign up, you’ll fill out a short survey: you’ll tell Toyfit how old your child is along with your child’s interests, favorite toys, books, and activities. Toyfit will use this information to curate a toy box especially for your child.

Toyfit produces boxes at three different price points: for the $30 small box, you’ll receive 1-2 toys and 1 book; for the $50 medium box, you’ll receive 2-3 toys and one book; and for the $80 large box, you’ll receive 3-5 toys and one book. I received the $50 medium box.

I love that even the included information card was tailored to me and my children! As you can see, Toyfit was able to send me one medium box that was customized for both of my children. Each child received their own toy, and the book was suitable for both children. Very cool!

Think Fun’s Rush Hour Junior ($15.99) is awesome! I can’t think of a better choice for my son! He loves both games and puzzles and took to this immediately.

img_2544

After opening it this morning, he spent about an hour learning the nuances of the game and working through the first 17 problems (the game includes 40 challenges, separated into 10 easy challenges, 10 medium challenges, 10 hard challenges and 10 super hard challenges). After a fun-filled day at a pumpkin patch, he came home and started at the beginning again, working through the first 31 puzzles in about 2 hours. For what it’s worth, he agrees that the super hard challenges are super hard! I love that this game challenges him. I’m sure that will continue to be a draw as he works his way through the 9 remaining super hard challenges.

We love Lego DUPLO at our house and were delighted to receive this farm life set ($12.39)!

img_2415

My daughter started by playing with the characters. She had fun telling me the names of all of the animals as well as the sounds that they make.

img_2423

My son started playing next to her, building an observation deck for people to sit on so that they could “look out and see the pretty view.” He was sure to include a garbage can so that they could keep the environment clean.

After playing with her characters, my daughter came over to help my son build his observation deck.

After talking about what the people on the deck saw, my son and I looked at the picture on the DUPLO box and recreated the farm. Both kids then took turns playing farm with the kids and animals from the set. Fun! I love how many different ways the kids found to play with this set. I’m sure that as time passes, they will find even more ways to use this set to build and tell stories.

Press Here by Hervé Tullet ($9.09) is one of my family’s favorite books! My son has enjoyed it for years, and my daughter has just started to enjoy following the book’s directions!

img_2362

I think this was a fantastic inclusion. Since we already have it, though, I’m going to send this on to my sister-in-law, whose 3-year-old will certainly love it. Lucky her.

img_2363

In addition to the toys and book, I also received helpful information about the ages and stages of both of my kids. In addition to developmental milestone checklists, Toyfit sent helpful parenting advice on an array of subjects.

I found all of the enclosed information helpful.

Finally, our box included a nice, easy, seasonally appropriate craft.

Both of my kids loved it, and it only took my son a couple of minutes to complete.

We really liked out first box from Toyfit! As promised, all of the included items were picked especially for us, and it showed! My kids loved their new toys and the Halloween craft, and I enjoyed reading through the parenting information! Using Amazon prices, the total value of our box (excluding the craft and enclosures) was $37.47. Although I’d love to see the value improve in future boxes, when I considered the time and effort they put into curation and the inclusion of the craft and educational material, I thought that $50 was a fair price for the box. My entire family can’t wait to see what they come up with next month (it’ll be difficult to top this one!).
