Everything was packed well in a cooler box with several large ice packs keeping it cold. Each meal is carefully vacuum sealed in one or two packets. The meals will be good in the fridge for up to four days or in the freezer for longer storage. And, you don’t have to worry about freezer burn because the vacuum sealing helps prevent that.

Meal Time Box‘s chef selected subscription box consists of five meals that rotate to five different meals every two weeks. You can choose the 10 meal box for $10.50 per meal ($9.55 for subscribe and save) or the 20 meal box for $9.50 ($8.55 for subscribe and save). (Make sure you click subscribe and save when your are checking out to get the discount.) Then choose how often you want your meals, once a week, every two weeks, or every four weeks. You will also get two free desserts with your box.

They also offer a started box with 6 meals in it for $75 or you can pick and choose which ever meals you want from their current menu for $13.50 a meal (minimum order of two at a time) (save 10% off this price when you subscribe and save).

We received their 10 meal box for our review. Currently, the five meals that they are offering for their chef selected boxes are Roast Chicken with Potatoes and Green Beans, Jambalaya, Chicken Broccoli Casserole, Herb & Garlic Chicken with Brown Rice and Asparagus, and Pulled Pork with Mac & Cheese + Collards. These meals will rotate to five new meals on Nov 24, so hurry and get your box before then to try these out!

The first meal that we tried out was the Roasted Chicken with Potatoes and Green Beans. You can see that they are very well vacuum sealed, nothing leaked and I was able to throw the extra meals in the refrigerator without any worries of them leaking.

mealtime-13

The chicken was flavorful and tender (no rubbery chicken here.) The potatoes were peppery and delicious and the green beans were perfect, just slightly crunchy (I hate mushy green beans). Don’t the green beans have great color?

Jambalaya was the next meal in our box. You can watch a video of Meal Time Box making Jambalaya below!

mealtime-14

There were chunks of sausage and chicken in a spicy (hot, but not peel your eyeballs hot) Jambalaya base. These taste like you ordered them at a restaurant!

mealtime-4

Our next meal was Chicken Broccoli Casserole. Do you see all of that cheese? Just look at all of that cheese! I love cheese.

mealtime-16

This stuff was fabulous. I don’t think the picture relays to you how cheesily, wonderful it was. I am so glad that they send two of each meal because I am going to need another one of these!

The fourth meal that we tried was Herb and Garlic Chicken with brown rice and asparagus.

mealtime-10

This meal was fancy, like eating at a really nice restaurant. The chicken had great flavor and I love asparagus and I appreciate that they made the healthier chose of brown rice instead of white.

mealtime-3 mealtime-2

Our last meal from the box was a Southern traditional, Pulled Pork with Mac & Cheese and Collard Greens.

mealtime-11

The pulled pork was preseasoned to perfection. It was a sweeter barbecue flavor that made me want more. The mac & cheese was cheesy and good. The collard greens were a little too spicy (hot) for my tastes, but if you like greens with homemade pepper sauce (it’s a southern thing, trust me, most people down here like it), then you will like these.

And our free desserts (two of them in the box) were individually packaged slices of this carrot loaf by ARV Sweets.  Yummy!  It was sweet, but not too sweet with a nutty wholesome flavor.

Meal Time Box is a great way to get the home-cooking you crave delivered to your door.  The packaging is convenient and would be great to take to work or to just eat at home to save the time and mess of cooking.  I love that they are freezable too, so if you order and then find you have other dinner plans for a few days you can just throw them in the freezer until you do need them. It also occurs to me that it would be a wonderful holiday sentiment to send the Meal Time Box to elderly family members that may need a little help with meal prep.
