we have increased the price of each subscription plan to $60 for 1 shirt, $50 each for 2 shirts, and $40 each for 3 shirts. I encourage you to receive this Spring Box and judge the value for yourself.

With this price increase, we hope to be able to return to the beautiful designs we launched with five years ago. At the price of $20 – $30 per shirt, we simply can no longer afford to make the high-end blouses and sweaters you love. Costs have increased significantly since we started the business in 2011: the cost of cotton has increased, the cost of paper has increased, but mostly, the cost of labor has increased.
The kind of designs we love to make with intricate paneling, beautiful draping and layering, and complicated asymmetric patterns, require professional seamstresses with experience and skill. Simply put, these professionals are not cheap.
Beyond this, we are committed to ethical labor practices and paying a fair wage. With this price increase, we will be able to continue to provide our seamstresses with a living wage and return to the classic, high-end blouses, sweaters, cardigans, and long-sleeve tops you love.
Additionally, and even more exciting, we will now be able to offer almost every style with our Unstainable® technology. Every style that uses our signature cotton/modal knit, Crepe de Chine, and Ponte de Roma knit will be treated with our Unstainable® technology. We are working to develop other fabrics with this technology as well. After the success of our Unstainable® Shirt and Workwear Kickstarter campaigns, we knew we had a hit on our hands – and we have been working for almost a year behind the scenes to adapt our supply chain to combine these two businesses together.
We are also announcing a few more exciting new changes: two new sizes (Women’s 16 & 18) and Sweat-Proof™ & Odor-Free technology in all designs with a knit lining.
I feel that even at the price of $40 – $60 per shirt, the additional value matches the increased price. I am committed to Elizabeth & Clarke’s mission of providing women with beautiful, functional, and work-appropriate clothing while providing its makers with a living wage. I hope that you agree.
