Tea Box Express is a monthly subscription box containing a brand-name, whole-leaf tea (either loose leaf or in a pyramid bag) plus 3-4 other tea related items, which may include infusers, measuring spoons, or food items like chocolate or cookies. It costs $25.50 for a monthly box, plus $6.49 for shipping. They offer 1, 3, or 6 month terms and each will automatically renew until cancelled (or choose the gift option, which doesn’t renew). Tea Box Express does a great job at presentation! I received my items in a sturdy cardboard box and everything was cushioned with shredded paper. Tea Box Express aims to “deliver a tea party to your door every month”. There was a card inside that gave info on how to share your box on social media for a chance to win a free box. It also listed the website address where you can get more information on your box.
I also received a personalized letter that listed the products in my box.
I LOVED that Tea Box Express included this cheat sheet for how to brew your teas from Loose Leaf Tea Market, the featured tea brand for September! Not all teas can be steeped for 5 minutes in boiling water and this is going straight on my fridge so I can easily check that I am using the correct water temperature when I try new types of tea.
Everything in my box!
Loose Leaf Tea Market is an actual market in Phoenix that hand blends artisanal teas in small batches and their Happy Place Blend ($14.50) is very sunny looking and delicious. This blend includes decaffeinated green tea, ginger, rooibos, and lemon verbena and has a lemony flavor with a touch of tannin from the green tea. It also has the anti-inflammatory spice turmeric and can help with digestion.
See, sunny and uplifting! I can actually see the chamomile, lemongrass, and redbush along with calendula petals in this tea.
Joyful Garden (no size given but the card says $5) is a mood-lifting blend of berries, lemon verbena, and rose petals and had a fruity, slightly spicy flavor after 20 minutes of steeping. (Note: The ingredients listed on the package are slightly different from the ones listed on the website.)
Joyful Garden certainly lived up to its name!
I loved the inclusion of Honey For Your Tea ($5.50) from The Savannah Tea Company! This one has a mild taste so it won’t overwhelm the nuances of your favorite tea but I will use exclusively with my herbal blends.
Tea Box Express included 18 biodegradable filters such as the ones that I found on Etsy ($2.60). I prefer to strain my tea after steeping but these will come in handy if I want to make a cup at work or while traveling.
I have never owned a honey dipper before but this was fun (if a bit messy) to use and the teapot spells out the word “tea” at the top! I found this Teapot Honey Dipper from Tea Source ($5.99).
I love the snacks that come in this box and I especially liked Ello Raw Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bites ($4.99). These tasty treats are raw and organic and have a simple list of real-food ingredients such as cashews, walnuts, and dates. They bear no resemblance to donuts other than looking like a donut hole but they are very similar to Lära Bars.
Here’s my honey dipper being put to use with my Happy Place tea.
I thoroughly enjoyed my monthly tea party from Tea Box Express! I tend to stick to the usual since I have a hard time choosing new types of tea and this way they are chosen for me. This would make a lovely gift for someone special since the presentation was beautiful and I felt like I had received a very upscale box. The September box had a value of $38.58. My whole experience with Tea Box Express was very impressive and I look forward to finding it in my mailbox each month!
