Joyful Devotion has a three-goal approach. First, they want women to spend more time learning about God by either providing a book or a Bible Study each month. Second, each box will contain an item from a Christian artisan or company. Other items will be sourced from companies that have good values and give back. Lastly, they give a percentage each month to Missions. They understand that women can be overly busy and want to make it easier for us to spend time with God. There is also an online book club that is available to subscribers. I did try to take a peek, but it is a closed group which is good to know! Receive your invite to the online book club by signing up on the main page.
There are two subscriber options available. The first option is the Joyful Devotion Set which contains one book or Bible Study along with one artisan item. The second subscriber option is the Joyful Devotion Box which contains one book or Bible Study along with three to five inspiring items.
The Scripture on the side of the box reads
…My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways. then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
I was surprised to see a tote!
The information Card has the items, descriptions, and prices listed.
I absolutely loved that they provide a way to reuse the box. Little Lamb, my fluffy white cat, thinks all boxes are for sleeping. I also think it is wonderful that they listed a free resource. My 17-year-old son, who plans to be a pastor, had the honor of listening to Ravi Zacharias speak in person last year!
Here are the items in the August Joyful Devotion Box. I couldn’t wait to start reading the book.
The August book is Amazing Truths: How Science and the Bible Agree by Dr. Michael Guillen ($18.99 MSRP, $12.78 on Amazon). Dr. Michael Guillen is a former ABC News Science Editor and Harvard physics instructor and is the host of the History Channel’s Where Did it Come From? I like that each chapter is divided into three sections: how science sees it, the Bible, and what it means to us. The book kept my interest although sometimes it was a bit too detailed for me. My husband, who has a Physics degree, loved the amount of detailed included. I slept through part of my high school physics class! My 17 year old is next in line to read it.
The Halle Joy Bag ($19.97) is the perfect size for toting everything you need to Bible Study. This tote is the best tote I ever received in a subscription box. It has an outside pocket that runs along the front of the tote, a pocket on each side to hold a water bottle, and a zipper. The inside is lined and has a zipper pocket on the one side and two pockets on the other side. The straps are wide making it comfortable to carry. The outside feels canvas-like while the inside feels like cotton. There is a material tag on the inside that says 100% cotton. I used the tote during a weekend trip and also carried it all day at an amusement park with no issues. I can’t believe it is only $19.97. It’s my new number one tote.
The Halle Joy Pearls of Wisdom Necklace ($9.48 MSRP, currently on sale for $7.99) is a beautiful necklace that was easy for me to wear as a double chain. The necklace has pearls and iridescent stones. I love the effect, and it is my favorite of the two necklaces.
My sister agreed to model the Halle Joy Stones of Heaven Necklace (MSRP $9.74, on sale $7.99) and fell in love with the necklace. The necklace is a silver necklace with clear stones and has an extender chain. Yes, I let her keep it! Halle Joy gives back to causes around the world.
I keep smelling the Faith, Soaps & Love Solid Lotion Heart Sample ($2.00). The pleasant smelling scent is Bergamot, Lemon, Citron, and Neroli. Warm the lotion bar in your hands and rub away. Faith, Soaps and Love also offers a Scripture Soap Subscription Box! I leafed through the website because her soaps are beautiful!
Joyful Devotion did an excellent job with the August box. I have my new go-to tote bag, a gorgeous necklace, and a lovely lotion bar. My sister loves her necklace. The family has been reading the book! I saw the September box contents (sold out!) on the website which had the new Lysa Terkeurst Book Uninvited. The online discussion must be amazing for that book! I love that new books are included along with Christian companies and companies that give back! Joyful Devotion is an excellent box for the busy Christian woman seeking to stay close to God.
