Horror Block is a monthly subscription box filled with some awesomely gruesome horror toys and collectibles. The Horror Block box ships at the end of the month so this is the September Box. My whole family loves this box even my boys who haven’t seen any of the shows and movies represented but they love that the items are spooky and scary.

First look at all the contents. I was cracking up just looking in here when I saw the top item. With all the talk lately about the clown sitings going around I was couldn’t help but chuckle.

horrorblock_sept2016_everything

Everything that came in my September box.  Each month we will get 5-6 horror related items.  This month Horror Block is all about Stephen King and I could get that right away.

Back side of the card and all of the descriptions.  Horror Block has great information cards. They are informative but they also have fun with their descriptions. Make sure you read through them all. So many exclusive items this month!

horrorblock_sept2016_ruemorgue

Rue Morgue Monstro Bizzaro ($14.95) – Instead of the monthly magazine this month Horror Block sent a book from the Rue Morgue library. This is a new book that is going to be released in Oct.  This book goes through all the different monsters through time.

You’ve heard of Bigfoot, Yeti, the Loch Ness Monster and maybe even the menacing Mothman who once brought terror to Point Pleasant, West Virginia. But how about Ogopogo, the Mongolian Death Worm or the Bishopville Lizard Man?

Welcome to a world of mysterious, real-life monsters, featuring a roster of cryptozoological marvels including the legendary Chupacabra, Jersey Devil, Boggy Creek Monster, Momo, Mokele-Mbembe, Real Wolfmen, Shunka Warak’in and more!

Let author and columnist Lyle Blackburn take you on a sightseeing tour of the darkest forests, the murkiest lakes and the most sinister skies in North America and beyond, in this seventh instalment of the Rue Morgue Library series.

Plus! Cryptid Cinema, Monstrous Museums, Monster Toys, Beastly Art, Travelogues of Terror, Real Case Files, Cryptid Television, Photo Galleries and lots more!

Also features a Foreword by Blair Witch Project co-creator Eduardo Sanchez, along with contributions by Ken Gerhard, Nick Redfern, David Weatherly and others.

The Shining REDRUM key hook – Oh my gosh this is AWESOME! I love the Shining and it is just the right bit of suspense and scariness for me.  This is such an iconic movie and an iconic piece.  I can’t wait to hang this up.

horrorblock_sept2016_misery

Shirtpunch Misery T-shirt (This is an exclusive but other Shirtpunch shirts go for $19.99) – Misery is another great movie and so freaking scary. Kathy Bates is all our psycho in it and I really need to do a rewatch of it soon.

Pennywise Plush from Stephen King’s IT – This is all out creepy which of course means my 5 year old is obsessed with it.  He has no idea what it is from but he thinks its so cool.  I keep reading about them making another IT movie remake and I’m sure to watch it since I remember being spooked by the first one.  I did laugh when I saw this as I mentioned above since there has been talk of clown sightings all over my new feeds lately.  I’m not sure if it is all of the US or just here in NC but I guess it is a thing now and people are freaking out.

horrorblock_sept2016_darktowers

The Darktower Artprint – While I do like the print the Darktower is one of those book series I just couldn’t get through.  Back when I was in my Stephen King reading phase I tried hard to read them and I know I got through a couple of them but they just weren’t my thing however I know that they are making a movie so maybe I will like that better.  The print is gorgeous and on a nice heavy weight cardstock. Horror Block also always does a great job of putting all the paper items in the bottom of the box so they stay nice and flat in transit.

horrorblock_sept2016_pjsoles

PJ Soles autograph as Norma Watson from Carrie – Oh this feels so exclusive and exciting. I actually like getting autographs and this one came with a note of authentication so that is even better. I go to conventions and fan events so I have a love of these items. I’ll be putting this with my other ones.

This month’s Horror Block was very Stephen King and that can’t even be a bad thing.  I will admit I haven’t read any of his books in quite awhile but I do enjoy them when I pick them up and I love the movies made from them. With Halloween coming up October feels like a great time to revisit the scary movies and read some scary books.

The October box is going to include exclusive items from Nightmare on ElmStreet, Halloween and Hellraiser. These are all really scary and perfect for the month of Halloween. Nightmare on Elm Street is actually my favorite horror movies from that era and I watched them all. Plus the original had Johnny Depp before he was a thing which is always so funny to me but yes I’ve been a fan that long. The box will also include 5 Exclusive to Horror Block items!  I love that they keep including more and more exclusive items.

All Nerd Blocks come with a $10 credit for ShirtPunch.com! and on the back side is a piece of a picture.  The idea is to collect all the pieces to win and we’ve been holding onto ours. Some pieces are going to be harder to get then others and while I did not have this one it is also the same piece I got in my Nerd Block this month so I thought that was kindof funny.
