This month’s selection arrived packaged inside of the hand woven basket.

July 2016’s Benefit basket contained both a hand woven palm basket and a brass necklace.

I love these baskets ($12 or 3 for $30)! They are produced by a weaving collective in Oaxaca, Mexico, specifically for Globe In, using previously discarded palm fronds and water-based paints. Each basket is 6″ in diameter and 5″ tall. This month, my kids decided that each component was actually a hat. They each walked around the house wearing their new hats proudly.

This month’s featured product is a brass wishbone pendant necklace produced by Tribe Alive in Honduras.

This delicate necklace can be worn either shiny and bright or with a patina. For those who prefer the shiny and bright look, simply soak periodically in a mixture of water and lemon juice for five minutes. Once done, rinse and dry.

The necklace was made by Denia from the artisan collective, Mi Esperanza. After learning how to make jewelry while recovering from a medical procedure in the United States, Denia returned to home Honduras where she has worked full-time producing gorgeous jewelry for all to enjoy ever since.

I love how perfectly this Globe In exclusive necklace coordinates with Globe In’s recently-released Limited Edition Jewelry Box (see our review)! Lovely as a stand alone piece or perfect as part of an ensemble with other pieces in from the Jewelry Box, this brass necklace was a real win for me!
