I picked the Strange Worlds case!

“A book should be read in youth, again in maturity, and once more in old age.”–Robertson Davies

YO HO YO HO, a pirate’s life for me!

I received 2 hard back books  in the fantasy genre. The books were cushioned with paper to keep the covers from damage.   I have not started on these yet but I am excited to get started. Both of my books are Pirate themed.

The information card detailed this month’s theme along with a note from the curator!

The House of the Four Winds ($21.29) is one book in a series about 12 princesses who must find their own futures. The first story is about Claire. She joins a ship crew under a false male name. She falls for the captain as they search for the priceless and magical Heart of Light. This series seems like it will be great for the young ladies to give  them strength to find their paths. I am starting on this book tonight. I have to hurry up and read this as my youngest son wishes to read it also. He, too, is into pirates and adventure.

Gone ashore right after breakfast. Four bells that’d be”. Kayin said. “An, er, a lady called for him. ” “Was she half-naked and barefoot?” Clarice asked.

“Why is all the rum gone?”

Child of the Hidden Sea ($21.15) is a story about a young woman named Sophie  and her aunt that are transported to another world after Sophie saves her aunt from an attacker. This world is not like any other and the locals do not like Sophie. I can’t wait to read about how she handles this new world and the locals.

“Blackberries,” she murmured.

“Pardon?”

“Invasive species,” she said. ” Himalayan blackberries. They took root in the Pacific Northwest, even though it’s not their original niche……”

“Like bullfrogs,” he said, and when she looked at him, surprised, he said ” I’ve been to Erstwhile, remember?”

These 2 books are a pirate’s treasure. Total retail for this box is $42.44, cost of the subscription $14.99 a month. Total savings: $24.45!!! I love savings! Do you like stories about pirates and different worlds? If you do, I know you will enjoy these books.

I hope you enjoy your box as much as I did! Save 10% on your first month with coupon code CRATEJOY.

That’s a pretty great price for two books! Not sure I’d want to pirate books though. I love the blackberry quote you put down–since moving to the PNW I refused to ever buy blackberries again because they are a weed. Also, you can just go for a walk in the summer and find them growing rampant–snack and a walk!

Thanks for the comment. Yes you can find blackberries around here too. The subscription allows you to chose what type of books you like to read. Maybe you can find something you like.
