Yummy Bazaar delivers gourmet food items to your door monthly. This Destination Food Club is available in a large Full Experience size (6-8 full sized gourmet items from one destination for $35.95) and mini Sampler size (6-8 sample sizes from around the world for $9.95).
This review covers the Sampler Box for July 2016 – only $9.95 per month!
The packaging is a bit simpler than the Full Experience Box, but you still get an info sheet detailing the contents of the box.
The sheet may borrow some of the imagery from the Full Experience box, but the products and destinations can be very different.
The info card details the products. The origin of each item is provided — we visited Spain, Korea, and the US!
All the goodies in the box!
Whirl-Ease-Honey Hot Beverage Sweetener, Honey Stirrer, Honey Pot Lollipop – USA ($1.95) I haven’t tried this out but I love the idea of adding honey in a non-messy way to a hot cup! Love the little honey pot shape, too!
CW Traditional Korean Rice Cake Cookie With Chestnuts – Korea ($0.50) This is a somewhat crumbly rice biscuit with a very chewy inside! Not my favorite cookie but unique and traditional.
Lark Fine Foods Salted Rosemary Shortbread – USA ($1.95) also unique and traditional but unusual as well – this salted Rosemary shortbread is a huge hit with me & my husband. It’s something that disappears as quickly as it arrives!
The inside of the cake is a very firm chestnut jelly.
Najla’s Gone Nuts Nut Mix Vegan and Gluten Free – USA ($3.95) I have had this blend before and they are totally right – it’s perfectly balanced between spicy and sweet. I was delighted to see this in the box because I had only tried it once!
Cape May Peanut Butter Co. Natural Peanut Butter -USA ($2.95) I love fresh, nutty peanut butter. Cape May’s butters bear the grind date on the label and this was ground just a few weeks prior. I prefer a bit more salt in my peanut butter but these are just peanuts and salt, no added sugar, so it really doesn’t need much!
Torres Spanish Mediterranean Herb Potato Chips – Spain ($2.95) These chips were highly unusual in that they barely had any salt – something like 2% of your RDA, which is shockingly low for chips. I think of Torres chips as the kind of chips that would (like anything from Chef Torres) be served with a really fancy meal.
These chips were liberally coated with traditional Mediterranean herbs and were addictive. I think I downed the entire bag before my husband had a shot at them! Couldn’t you see these with a NY strip? I can!!
The Mini Box is a fun way to try some delicious snacks from all over the world. It doesn’t have a theme but it’s a really good deal at less than $10 per month and such a great gustatory mini delight!
