Nerdy Knit Kit is a monthly subscription box, perfect for people who like knitting as well as other “geeky” things. Subscriptions start at $36 for one month, with discounts for purchasing three or six month packages. I love to knit and I’m a little bit (or maybe a lot) geeky, so I was super excited to review Nerdy Knit Kit.
Let’s dig in, because July’s theme is HAMILTON!
Upon opening the box, I was greeted by pretty red tissue paper and the information card. Underneath the tissue and information card, here’s what I saw. Patriotic colors and prints – perfect for the theme.
This picture shows all of the contents in this month’s box. Every month will include an original Lady Purl Design’s skein of yarn and “an assortment of goodies to satisfy your yarn and geek cravings.” Some goodies include lotion bars, soap bars, original knitting patterns, art, buttons, bags, and more. Each box will be valued at over $40.

Lady Purl Designs “1776” Yarn (about $22-25) This yarn is beautifully dyed – red, white, blue, and gold – of course. Absolutely perfect for it’s “1776” name, and all the colors that come to mind when thinking of Hamilton. I haven’t had a chance to see the production yet, but I am obsessed with the soundtrack – these are the colors I imagine when I sing along. This is a great lightweight yarn and I look forward to making something fun with it.
Enthusiastic Candle Co. John Laurens-Scented Candle ($16) This is super fun. Enthusiastic Candle Co. has a number of different candles, each inspired by a character from Hamilton. I got John Laurens, which smells like a cinnamon roll…of course! (Yeah, I giggled. You can too.) Anyway, the candle smells amazing – a great themed goodie!
Hand-painted Knitting Bag. This is a nice sized zipper bag – perfect for storing a project while knitting. The hand-painted design is pretty and, of course, spot on for the Hamilton theme.
The other side of the bag is a very patriotic stars & stripe pattern. I just love this little bag and because it has a zipper, it is useful as well as cute.
This was my first time to enjoy a Nerdy Knit Kit – and I loved it. The theme is fun, the yarn is gorgeous, and the goodies were perfect. I can’t wait to see what Lady Purl comes up with next…especially because Nerdy Knit Kit has a preview for August’s theme…Pokemon! This subscription box is exactly what the geeky knitter is looking for!
