Loot Crate DX is a monthly subscription box from Loot Crate. It’s themed with the regular Loot Crate spoilers, except it contains premium next level loot for discerning geeks! It’s like a special edition box from Loot Crate – every month!
I liked the classy style of the packaging with the slick paper.
Everything was packed in beautifully — there’s plenty of room, so nothing gets squished!
The bottom of the box says “Brave New World”
Everything in the box!
The box comes with a tri-fold booklet with a short note and information about Loot Crate’s community features on the back. Check out the theme experience hub here. The June pin was also in a little folder this month.
Welcome to Dystopia – the theme for the June box!
And the information for all the items! The box was loaded with exclusives! I loved the background for this month!
Blade Runner Pin (~$15) Undeniably the MOST awesome and amazing pin Loot Crate has ever done! It’s a little jokey with the badge number but also cute!
Two posts so it always stays upright.
Exclusive – Art of Bioshock Infinite Book (~$20): A Beautiful softcover with some amazing artwork! This is the paperback version of the existing hardcover ($27.22).
In The Art of BioShock Infinite, delve deeper into the city of Columbia—the fabled floating metropolis that serves as a beacon of technology and achievement for the early 1900s! This deluxe hardcover features production designs and concept illustrations focusing on main characters Booker DeWitt, Elizabeth, and Songbird from the BioShock Infinite video game. See the evolution of Sky-Hooks, Heavy Hitters, the populace of Columbia, Vigors, airships, and much more!
I gladly celebrate the weirdness, artfulness, and steampunkery of Bioshock Infinite!
Really cool stuff in here!
For scale – a pair of kid’s scissors!
Chronicle Collectibles Blade Runner Police Spinner – Exclusive ($20?)
Designed by Syd Mead, Spinners drive, take off into air, and hover. Mead described spinners as aerodynes (which use the downward projection of air for lift) although the producers said it was 3 engines – combustion, jet, and “anti-gravity.” The info on the box is a very light-handed explanation of that! Chronicle should be releasing more Syd Mead stuff in the future!
The car itself is very cool and spins on the platform.
Love the realistic dirty look of the car – lots of detail!
Grey Matter Art Escape From New York Art Print – Exclusive ($10) So, I guess we’re going to get a print in every box. Unlike in month’s past this one was boarded on sturdy cardboard, in an open bag. Love me some Kurt!
Accutime Watch Corp. Mirror’s Edge Watch – Exclusive ($20?) This is a cool watch with a great big face. Funny enough, I already have another Mirror’s Edge Watch from another Loot Crate box…
The information card says that it’s Parkour Friendly. There are no indications on the watch or in the included literature that indicate that it’s shock resistant, although it does sport a stainless steel case.
It’s a slick looking design, but clearly designed for a man. I didn’t even unbuckle it!
Exclusive Fallout 4 Headphones ($20?) The inside of the box has a promo for Fallout Shelter, which looks fun!
The headphones come with a replaceable cord – which is a nice touch because that’s the part that fails – and Fallout 4 on one ear and Nuka Cola on the other.
Mine were pretty banged up – the cord should have been separately bagged, because it scratched the hell out of the top.
They have pretty good sound – I can’t say that I was unhappy to get these!
This was a good mix of items! Even though Loot Crate spoiled this box accidentally before it even shipped I never noticed there wasn’t apparel in the box until I was finished taking photos. That was a bit of a surprise but it’s nice to mix it up (especially as I wasn’t treated to another long-sleeved shirt in the middle of summer!). I estimated the total value at around $105, which comes to what Loot Crate promises. The pin was my clear favorite and most awesome item! Their target market is clear – and it seems to be geeks my age (Hello Escape From New York!!!) or older.
