IMG_3703Snack Sack is a monthly subscription service that sends boxes filled to the brim with a combination of organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, all-natural, vegan and fair-trade snacks to your door every month!

IMG_3705This month was the first month I haven’t received a burlap sack or handwritten note with my box. I was mildly disappointed until I took a long, hard look at the snacks. They look delicious!

IMG_3708 (2)I love how, in addition to the plethora of snacks, the box includes coupons toward your next purchase.

Each month the box arrives with a list of its contents. I love how easy Snack Sack makes it to identify the gluten free, vegan and non-GMO snacks!

The first snack I picked up this month was Chinook Seedery’s Smokehouse BBQ sunflower seeds ($1). Produced in Austin, Texas, these sunflower seeds are delicious! They’re sweet, spicy and smoky, just the way I like my BBQ! It’s been years since I’ve had sunflower seeds, though, so I need to relearn my technique! If they weren’t taking me so long to eat, I would have gobbled these up already.

IMG_3715These You Love Fruit Key Lime Fruit Leathers ($1.87) were very yummy. Tasting of mango and imperial lime, I wish they had advertised the leather as such, but that’s being picky. These are delicious. I gobbled them down as a snack in one sitting.

IMG_3716Freeyumm’s Honey Apple Oat Bar ($5.99) was slightly sweet and delicious. I loved how it’s free of the eight big food allergens. As such, it’s safe for school lunches! After I took a small bite, my two kids split the rest, begging for more.

IMG_3731Cocomel’s Vanilla Coconut Milk Caramels ($4.99 for 3.5 oz; roughly $0.20 each?) are a yummy, chewy, sweet candy made from organic ingredients. Throw some in your purse for an afternoon treat. Mine didn’t last that long. FYI – these are dairy free caramels made from coconut milk!

IMG_3730Sheila G’s Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle ($3.99) tastes like the top crust of caramel brownies. It’s sweet, crunchy and delicious! My son took the bag from me happily.

IMG_3735Justin’s Honey Almond Butter ($1.59) is very yummy. A little thick to eat on its own, it would sing in an almond butter jelly sandwich. The honey is light. Rather than making this overly sweet, it adds a nice depth of flavor to the almonds.

IMG_3733Kobaya’s Black Pepper Coated Almonds ($2.49) were a bit of a disappointment for me. There was nothing wrong with them; they just weren’t special. The black pepper was so subtle that I didn’t think it warranted the coating around the almonds. Next time, as opposed to almonds coated in rice powder, I’d just prefer a bag of almonds.

IMG_3724Raw Rev Glo’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar ($1.99) has the consistency of a power bar. Somewhat sweet, my kids gobbled this one up. I’m thrilled to find a snack that’s chock full of protein, omega-3s and fiber that they love! I’m also happy to know that many of the ingredients in the bar are organic.

IMG_3722I loved this package of Made in Nature’s Organic Tart Cherries ($6.99 for 3.8 oz). These were moist, slightly tart and oh so good! I only wish I had more of them!

IMG_3732Since I don’t drink coffee (and am supposed to avoid caffeine altogether), I plan to gift Steamm’s Organic Espresso, Cacao and Stevia ($3) to a friend. Still, I thought its inclusion in this month’s Snack Pack was great! Most people love coffee and would appreciate a high quality shot of espresso as an at work pick-me-up without having to run to the local coffee shop.

IMG_3725Somersault’s Cinnamon Crunchy Sunflower Seed Bites ($0.99) were crunchy cinnamon treats. We finished these off in one sitting. While we had them for breakfast, they would make a nice dessert served with milk. As an added bonus, they’re nut free!

IMG_3723Flyjoy’s Coconut Macaroon Ancient Grain Energy Bar ($2) was yet another win for us! With a hint of coconut, this nutritional powerhouse tasted just like the granola bars of my youth (which weren’t half as good for you!). I was especially happy to learn that many of the ingredients are organic, including the organic chia seeds.

Beanitos Mac and Cheese Flavored White Bean Crunch (price unknown) tasted just like the cheese puffs of my youth. Yum! Light, crunchy and cheesey, I didn’t pick up on the bean flavor at all. These were so good!

Beanitos Hint of Lime Chips ($6.60) were oh so good! They reminded me of cool ranch Doritos, which I haven’t had since my youth. They were crunchy, tangy and did have a slight bean taste to them, which I really enjoyed. This was yet another Beanitos home run for me.

I loved how Snack Sack delivered a ton of relatively healthy snacks, yet each one was substantially different from the other. Some would be perfect for lunchboxes, others for treks, and still others for lounging around the house. Some were extremely sweet; others were tart. Some were soft, and others were crunchy. Some were made of fruits and vegetables, and others were principally nuts. In short, whatever your snack persuasion, Snack Sack would deliver. We can’t wait to see what they send us next month!
