The Box of Blessings by International Blessings sends 3-4 jewelry or other handcrafted items by artisans around the world. International Blessings is working to empower 3rd world artisans by creating sustainable livelihoods and healthy families which break the poverty cycle. $3.00 from every box is donated to the cause of the month.
That sums it up! Breaking the poverty cycle helps keep parents and children from being forced into human trafficking, dying from curable diseases and more.
The booklet is on top. I wonder what is underneath?
I see two items and a box! I wonder what is inside the box.
The booklet provides information on what countries are featured each month, the cause of the month, and information about the items included in the box.
The cause for April is Compassion Intl. Garden Seeds. The $3.00 donation will be used to provide drought resistant seeds and agricultural training to those at risk of famine. I’m excited because I have ordered from their gift catalog and am familiar with Compassion International. The charity of the month also coincides nicely with Earth Month.
The booklet also includes a description of the items in the box.
Here are the items for the April 2016 Box of Blessings! I love the headband colors and hope it fits.
Minga Imports assists artisans in 4 countries in receiving a wage that supports their families and reinvests in their communities. The Jungle Twist Bangle is made with Achera seeds and coconut on a stretchy band. The trio of beaded bands creates a unique look. It is made in Ecuador.
I love how the trio of bands twists and adds interest to an outfit without being overbearing.
I was flat out impressed that there was jewelry in a box. Usually jewelry is in an organza bag.
I am in love with the earrings and the name. Organic Jungle Jewelry!!! The made in Peru Fishscale Earrings ($10.00) are made from dyed scales of the paice fish which grows up to 9 feet. The fishscale earrings do not smell fishy.
Sanyork Fair Trade in Peru works with families to reduce poverty by employing artisans.
The lightweight, dangling earrings are beautiful. The earrings are created with eco-friendy nuts, seeds, and fish scales all from the Amazon Rainforest!
The Manta Headband is gorgeous! I love the intricate weaving. The colors are absolutely beautiful. The women used the scraps of woven cotton fabric leftover from the Manta Blankets to make the headband. The Manta Blankets are utilized in the mountains of Peru carry their babies and harvests on their backs. It’s amazing what is done with cotton scraps.
Look at the headband and not me! The headband is beautiful. It was tight for a couple of minutes before feeling comfortable. I love the colors and plan on wearing it. And, yes, I need to cover up my roots again!
The items in the Box of Blessings are beautiful items created by skilled artisans. I am impressed with their craftsmanship. I like that the information card lists the amount donated and the cause. The variety and colors are great. It’s a wonderful box for those looking to support impoverished artisans and empower them and their communities while also support a monthly cause.
