Beauteque BB Bag Subscription Box Review – March 2016

Beauteque offers two subscriptions featuring Asian beauty products delivered to your door monthly.  Products include makeup, skin care, body care, and more.  For $22 per month, your BB Bag comes with 6-8 full size products.  If you like masks, the Mask Maven subscription brings you 9-11 various masks monthly starting at $14.  The following is a review of the March BB Bag.

On a Side Note:  Before trying any Asian cosmetic subscription, expect that most information on the package will be in the native language.  That said, more and more brands are including directions/ingredients in English, and information can also be found in English on the majority of brands’ websites (you may have to choose a brand’s global or US site).  Secondly, a large number of products focus on brightening or whitening the skin.  As a person of color, I have not seen my skin color change.  Instead, I’ve experienced that my skin tone gets evened out after prolonged use.  However, your results may be different.  And lastly, many products contain ingredients which are animal-derived, so these may not be an option if you are vegan.  You can also check out cosDNA.com to see if the ingredients for the product are listed there.

The contents for this month didn’t all fit inside the bag, so they were packed in a box.  Here’s my first peek in.

The fold out card has information on each of the products and basic how to use directions.  Pricing for products varied across sites.  The prices listed are those of Beauteque.  Here’s the note from the front of the information card.

My BB Bag (box) unpacked!

The Face Shop Daegwallyong Fresh Milk Cream ($15.00):  If you’re like me, you’re probably asking “what the heck is daegwallyong milk?”.  My best guess is that it is sheep’s milk.  Daegwallyong is an area in mountains of South Korea that is known for sheep farming.  This contains daegwallyong milk extract to brighten skin and shea butter to soften and moisturize.  The cream is rich and absorbs easily, with a light clean scent.  Plus, it is 5 free – no paraffin, parabens, tar pigments, mineral oil, talc, polyacrylamide, or benzophenone-3.  Yes, I know that’s more than 5 things.  This is not available yet in the Beauteque Shop, but I did find it on FaceShop for $10.

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch ($4.80):  This is a hydrocolloid patch that protects skin and prevents secondary infections while healing.  It protects the area from further irritation while absorbing excess oil from the blemish.  Since the patch is thin, makeup can be worn over it.

Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream ($12.99):  Containing 80% snail slime filtrate and E.G.F. (Epidermal Growth Factor), use this eye cream to increase firmness and elasticity of the skin.  Use on tired eyes to fight the appearance of dark circles.  A little bit is all you need to use.  I used a drop about the size of a pin head for my outer eye area.

Ladykin One Touch Bling Glow Lipstick in 02 Rose Pink ($8.50):  This is also not in the Beauteque Shop yet.  This color was a little too pink for me, but perfect for my niece.  It has a creamy formula and moisturizes with the use of Ladykin’s exclusive Osmo system for prolonged comfort and improved suppleness.

Urban Dollkiss A to Z All in One Cream ($12.00):  This multi-function all in one cream base, acts as a BB, CC and primer.  It is perfect for light texture, giving make up a long lasting look while protecting your skin with SPF50.  This is a few shades lighter than my complexion, so it will be gifted. The name reminds us of Urban Decay and the packaging reminds us of Too Faced!Egg Brush Cleaner ($8.00):  This is a silicone egg-shaped brush cleaner.  To use, slip this onto your finger and swirl soapy makeup brushes over the ridges to clean.  The little nubs are good for smaller brushes.

And finally, here’s this month’s bag.  The pink and red gingham reminds me of spring picnics.

These are the acne patches.  They come in various sizes.

I put a patch on my niece.  Both of us agreed that you would be able to see this under makeup.  We felt this was more for bedtime use.

This month’s bag is valued just over $61.  Two products will be gifted, so I’ve lost a third of my bag.  But, I am looking forward to using the body cream and brush cleaner.  My niece’s interest in K-beauty has grown with this bag – she lucked out and scored the products that I couldn’t use.  I can’t wait to see what next month brings.
