IMG_2569Snack Sack is a monthly subscription service that sends boxes filled to the brim with a combination of organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, all-natural, vegan and fair-trade snacks to your door every month!

IMG_2570 (2)This month, everything fit in the lovely burlap sack! I really appreciate receiving these. I need every bag I can get ahold of to contain my kids’ toys.

IMG_2571I love how, in addition to the plethora of snacks, the box includes coupons toward your next purchase.

Each month the box arrives with a list of its contents. I love how easy Snack Sack makes it to identify the gluten free, vegan and non-GMO snacks!

Bitsy’s Brainfood’s Orange Chocolate Beet Smart Cookies ($4.49) would make a perfect addition to a child’s lunchbox. Made with fruits and vegetables, these organic cookies pack a nutrient punch. Nut free, they’re not going to cause a problem at school. The orange and chocolate flavors are most pronounced; even someone who doesn’t care for beets (i.e. me!) won’t object. My son declared them delicious!

IMG_2620I loved these Mint Honey Patties by Heavenly Organics (16 for $21.46)! These decadent organic candies contain only 3 ingredients: cacao, honey and peppermint oil. Between the 100% cacao chocolate and the raw honey, these candies contain lots of minerals and antioxidants to help lessen the guilt when you down all three at one sitting, as I did.

IMG_2629Yummy Health’s Cookie Dough Bar ($24.35 for 12) was a tasty version of an energy bar. My son thought it tasted like candy. He devoured it. Little did he know it was chock full of protein, fiber and Omega-3s!

IMG_2624My son had fun asking me about the presidents as he gobbled up these Presidents cookies by Dick and Jane Baking Company ($19.99 for 30). He wanted to learn about the presidents on his sister’s cookies too! While I found these a bit sweet but otherwise unremarkable, the kids liked them very much.

IMG_2631Mediterra’s Savory Bar with Sundried Tomato and Basil ($23.95 for 12, but you can get two free samples with $1 shipping on their website) was interesting. It tasted just like pasta with sundried tomato pesto sauce, except that a granola bar texture was substituted for the pasta. It was excellent for what it was, although I’ll have to be in the mood for a savory snack to have another one.

IMG_2626These multi-seed crackers by Crunchmaster ($39.41 for 12) were extra crunchy! The sesame flavor is rather pronounced, so make sure you like sesame seeds before running out for this. You may be able to mask the sesame with a strong cheese (Boursin?) if crunch, but not sesame is your thing.

IMG_2623This Kiwa Native Andean Potato Mix ($64.90 for 12) was beautiful! Although I liked these chips, last month’s to-die-for Jackson’s Honest Heirloom Purple Potato Chips are in a completely different league.

IMG_2628Although labeled as a chocolate brownie, I think Nature’s Bakery’s Double Chocolate Brownie (price unclear) would better be described as a brownie-flavored energy bar. As an energy bar, these are great. My son devoured these. I eventually had to cut him off. He would eat Snack Sack snacks all day if I let him!

IMG_2621This package of Annie B’s Triple Treat Popcorn ($1.99) and the chocolate honey candies were my favorite snacks this month. No one else got to try either one. I loved how this popcorn has plain, cheese and kettle kernels, yet they all seem to work well together. They were all great. I had fun eating them separately and then combining them into different combinations of tastes!

IMG_2630Brami’s Lupini Beans ($39.92 for 8) didn’t work for me. They were a little slimy and had a slight vinegar taste to them. My son didn’t go for them either. It’s too bad, because I love beans!

IMG_2625Kutoa’s Chocolate Espresso Bean  bar ($23.99 for 12) tastes of coffee. If you’re running late and don’t have time to stop for a cup on your way to work, just ingest one of these.

IMG_2627I liked Power Up’s Protein Packed Trail Mix ($23.99 for 12) very much. It’s very plain, very retro–just what I like to take with me on the trails.

I wish I could say I enjoyed Belicious’s Strength Pouch ($15.96 for 4), but I did not. I chilled it as recommended, but still couldn’t tolerate it.

Stay on top of your game with Strength! This nutrient dense blend of WHOLE foods contains iron-rich spinach, calcium-packed kale, vitamin C-filled citrus, and omega-3-fatty acid packed chia seeds, made to harness your power, giving you the strength you need to power through anything!

Vegetable Broth (Water, Onions*, Carrot*, Celery*, Mushrooms*, Red Bell Pepper*, Garlic*) Spinach*, Sweet Potato*, Carrot Juice*, Pear*, Lemon Juice*, Chia Seeds*, Whole Ground Orange*, Orange Juice*, Quinoa*, Kale*, Lentils*, Water, Banana* Sea Salt, Cumin* *Indicates Organic.

I loved how Snack Sack delivered a ton of relatively healthy snacks, yet each one was substantially different from the other. Some would be perfect for lunchboxes, others for treks, and still others for lounging around the house. Some were extremely sweet; others were salty. Some were soft, and others were crunchy. Some were made of fruits and vegetables, and others were principally nuts. In short, whatever your snack persuasion, Snack Sack would deliver. We can’t wait to see what they send us next month!
