Comic Block is a monthly subscription box from the Nerd Block Family of geek crates! With this subscription you’ll receive 3 fresh comic books, a shirt, and other goodies each month.

Update: Starting with March the price has increased. The February box, however, was the new larger size of block!

This box is great and there is special care for the contents.  Comic books are wrapped in plastic and/or bagged and boarded.  Books are protected at the bottom of the box with the soft t-shirt at the top.  In between, is a nice little collectible. Upon unboxing, I was instantly excited as I saw the Joker shirt.  Here is a look at all of the items from inside the February Comic Block!

Comic Block includes a card to explain the contents of the subscription box, and it’s made to look like a comic!

Joker Laughing T-Shirt.  I am really liking the black t-shirt with the murky yet bright colors.  The Joker is one of the creepiest villains in comic book history and this shirt captures that essence.

Hellboy Winter Special – Exclusive Cover for Comic Block – Dark Horse Comics.  Comic Block is known for including first issues and key issues in their subscription boxes and February 2016 is no different.  Various writers/artists worked on this special book.

Best-selling novelist Chelsea Cain writes and Michael Avon Oeming draws the first of three snowbound stories. Then Tim Sale visits Mignola’s prehistoric mythology, and in a lead-in to the upcoming issues of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1953, Hellboy explores a haunted mine in the barren wastes of Wyoming.

Hellboy and BPRD 1953 #1 ($3.50) Dark Horse Comics.  This first issue is brought to you by the creative team of Mike Mignola, Chris Roberson, Paolo River, Joe Rivera and Dave Stewart.  Getting two Hellboy books in one box is awesome!  Now if we could just get that third movie made…

A mysterious creature hunts the children of an idyllic suburban town, and the BPRD get more than they bargained for when their investigation begins to seem strangely familiar.

* iZombie cocreator Chris Roberson joins Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and Eisner and Harvey Award–winning artist Paolo Rivera for Hellboy: year two.

* Features a David Mack variant cover!

Deadpool and the Merc$ for Money #1 ($3.99) Marvel Comics.  Deadpool is the hottest name in comics right now and this is one of the hottest books as well!  This book has more pages than your average comic for $3.99 as it also includes a bonus book: Spidey #1. This was released on 2/3!

POW! Pin.  A great accessory to you superhero outfit.

Comic Block is getting even bigger!  Next month they will start adding bigger and better collectibles.  Those that already have a subscription will be grandfathered in and keep the same low cost of the subscription box (at least initially).

In all, Comic Block is an absolutely remarkable value.  The three comics were $3.50 – $3.99 each with one comic having an exclusive cover from Comic Block and it cannot be found anywhere else.  Throw in the t-shirt and the POW! pin and the value is well over the $19.99 monthly cost. For someone like me who loves comic books and t-shirts, this is an incredible value.
