I received a new shipment from Candy Club. I tell you I am looking forward to this box every month. They have sent me the best candies I have ever tried and this month is no exception.
Candy Club is a premium candy subscription box that sends 3+ pounds of nicely boxed candy to your door. You get 3 canisters of candy, a bonus treats find, and a liberal splash of something extra! A monthly box runs $34.99, but the price decreases quite a bit with a longer subscription.
Candy Club has a fun quiz to help personalize your box. Take the quiz when you sign up or go straight for just selecting your box. This is the Club Favorites box, a mix of classic sweets and fun sours.
This month’s candies were Gustaf’s Jelly Babies, Toxic Waste Smog Balls, and Chewter’s Minibala Fruit filled Candies. The surprise candy this month was Sweet’s Chocolate Flavored Salt Water Taffy. The Toxic Waste Smog Balls were sent in place of the Nassau Assorted Gummy Looms.
The back of the information card contains the nutritional details for each candy.
We reached out to Candy Club, and they said the wrong card was inserted (and provided us with the correct one via email – screenshots included!)
Let’s start with the Gustaf’s Jelly Babies. These jelly babies came in 5 flavors: Lemon, Lime, Orange, Pineapple, & Strawberry. They have a coating of starch on them. They were in the shapes of bears. I enjoyed the candy but not the starch coating. The flavors were not over powering.
The Toxic Waste Smog balls were a sour small jaw breaker type candy with a chewy center. They came in Lime, Cherry, Strawberry, Lemon, and Blue Raspberry. I really like these. They are not a large size like regular jaw breakers. Then you get that surprise of the chewy center. The flavors are very distinguishable. The kids will enjoy these if I don’t eat them all first!
Next are the Chewter’s Minibala Fruit filled candies. These are small fruit filled candies that came in Grape, Tangerine, Strawberry, Pear, and Lemon. They can be kept in your purse to give the young ones when needed to calm them down. They taste great and remind me of the candies my granny would have in her purse for the grandkids.
Last but not least is the Sweet’s Chocolate Flavored Salt Water Taffy. YUMMY!!! This taste very similar to tootsie rolls. I am not a big fan of salt water taffy because usually it is too tough but the ones from Sweet’s are very chewy and tasty. Get you some.
The boys have been sampling on these candies for a bit now and we have enjoyed trying them out. Oh by the way the canisters that the candies come in can be re-purposed for other things. Have you reused yours for anything fun?
We highly recommend Candy Club. It is well worth the monthly fee if you’re in the market for this type of candy (you can pretty much buy all the candies in bulk online, but it’s not nearly as fun, and the value is probably on par with higher end candy stores – Dylan’s Candy Bar sells “Paint Cans” of candy for $16 each!) and your sweet/sour tooth will thank you for it.

I get the “favorites” box and mine was completely different. Do they choose at random?
