beauty box outsideI received the December Target Beauty Box the other day and was really excited to try the items inside! Target periodically sells non-subscription Target Beauty Boxes – depending on the contents, they are themed and cost $5-10, and sell out quickly! January’s boxes were themed Refresh and Renewal and were up for sale for a few hours on January 4. 20160114_204214The items in the box were inspired by 2016 beauty resolutions! A $3 off $15 coupon was also attached to the card.

Say hello to a new year with a Target Beauty Box. In this box, you’ll find a few of our favorite new products—each inspired by our 2016 beauty resolutions. A $30 value for just $7, this handpicked collection lets you revive your skin, face and hair for a healthy post-holiday glow. Who doesn’t love a fresh start? Test them out and tell us what you think. Everything in the box – just $7!

Inside was Nivea in shower lotion, Nip Fab Glycolic Fix pads, Simple Micellar Makeup remover wipes, John Frieda hairspray, Acure day cream, Marlowe extra moisturizing body lotion, Scunci hair ties, and 2 samples of Clear shampoo.

lotions

The Nivea In-Shower body lotion retails for $ 5.99 for 13.5 oz bottle. I received a 2.7 oz bottle ($1.18 sample). Let me tell you I really need this type of product this time of year.  It has a silky feel when you apply it and washes off easily. It does not leave a film on your skin.  I also tried the Marlowe Extra Moisturizing Body Lotion afterwards. It made my hands and elbows feel silky smooth and has a nice scent to it that isn’t overpowering. I received a 1 oz sample ($.66). This product normally retails for $9.99 for a 15 oz bottle.

  makeup wipes

In the box was a full size product of the Simple Micellar Make Up Remover wipes. That was a welcome sight as I just ran out of make up wipes. The wipes worked well for removing what little makeup I had on. I normally have sensitive skin and this did not irritate me at all. It also has a soft scent to it.  The price of this product is $6.99 for a 25 count package.

shampoo

I tried the Clear Men Scalp Therapy 2-in-1 Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Scalp & Hair Therapy Total Care Conditioner. I received 2 samples in the box. I like the product overall. Luckily I just recently cut my long hair so there was plenty in the bottles to wash my hair. This was always a problem. LOL! The product typically retails for $ 4.99 and as I received 2 samples the price of the samples were 59¢ and 66¢. According to the card and the site when the box was released, it should have included Clear Total Care Shampoo and Conditioner, but I used them anyways!

hairspray

Also in the box was a full product of the John Frieda Frizz Ease Hairspray. Retail Price $ 8.99. This does have a flexible hold and did not leave any residue in my hair. Just in time to help me style my new do.

hairbands Speaking of hair, also in the box was 2 Scunci hair ties. I go through hair ties or lose them. These seem to be holding up well and have not stretched out yet. This product retails for $2.87 for 6 so my sample was $0.96.

micellar wipes

There were a couple of products in the box I have never heard of or even tried before. So I was excited to “experiment!”  The first was Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix. These are exfoliating wipes. There were 5 pads in this sample. This product is $12.99 for 60 pads (sample was $1.08). It has a slight citrus scent to it. It did make my skin feel clean and did not irritate my skin.daycream

The next item was Acure Day Cream. This was 1 oz sample but the stores sell it in a 1.75 oz tube for $16.99. My sample price came to around $9.70.  Not bad! This product is used for your face neck and chest. It too has a citrus scent to it. It is great to put on in the morning.

I am looking forward to the next Beauty Box! This one had about $31 in value and definitely met Target’s promises!

I could not believe how fully packed my box was. I can use everything but the Scuncis which I will send to my daughter. I hope all their future boxes are this good.

I enjoyed reading your review! I gave most of my box to my sister. I mainly wanted to try the Acure Day Cream and also kept the wipes.
