OKASHDA! is a monthly Japanaese snacks and candy box based in Japan. They offer two sizes of box: PuchiBox ($20 per month, 6-8 full size snacks), And OkiBox ($30 per month, 12-15 full-size snacks). You can purchase 1, 3, or 6 month non-recurring plans. The USPS helpfully wrote my address on every surface of this great big box, hence I’m only showing you a small portion. They will sometimes have limited edition boxes for purchase.
The information card is so cute!
A great big box packed full of snacks.
The information card shows what comes in Puchibox and what comes in Okibox. We received the Okibox for review.
Lotte Fusen Gumball (Puchi + Oki) These are sweet and juicy and like many Japanese fruity candies have a great natural taste – sweet blueberry, sour blueberry, and yogurt flavor!
Meiji Banana Choco (Oki) Banana candy coated chocolate, ate em all!
Christmas Lollipops (Puchi + Oki) Fun Christmas-themed lollipops!
Do not stick your tongue in the gumball dispenser!
I love banana flavored candy and since these are chocolate inside, they really went quickly.
Meji Seasonal Horn Milk Tea Biscuit (Oki) Limited Edition biscuits with a creamy earl grey milk tea chocolate center. They’re quite good (I don’t like drinking tea but I generally enjoy tea-flavored goodies from Japan!).
Bourbon Elise Double Cast Star Wars Biscuit (Puchi + Oki) Oooh a licensed Star Wars item!
I visited both sides of the Force and embarrassingly ate nearly the entire box. Yummy and fun!
Bourbon Alfort Butter Chocolate Biscuits (Puchi + Oki) These are described as creamy blond chocolate and crispy biscuit. When I took the photo I thought they must be milk coffee, so I didn’t take them out to taste and saved them for my husband (I’ve been burned by Bourbon coffee cookies before!). However my husband discovered that they weren’t coffee at all. We thought they tasted like dulce de leche and were very tasty.
Calbee Vegips (Oki) Pumpkin and Sweet Potato Chips – they must be an award winner of some kind looking at the bag. Simple, crunchy, delicious!
Meito Pukupuku Choco Tai (Puchi + Oki) We’ve had these before and they’re really fun – a cool fish shaped wafer filled with bubble chocolate! (Ahh, I found it – it was in one of our Global Delights boxes – the box is defunct but we have a photo of the inside!).
Asahi Pear Cider Gummy and Puniwawa Bear Paw Gummy (Puchi + Oki) The cider gummies had a clean fresh taste of pear and are made with La France of Mitsuya Pear Cider! The bear paw gummies are two-layer apple and yogurt flavor. Japanese gummies are some of the best in the world!
Kracie Popin Cookin Ice Cream DIY Candy Kit (Oki) This is a really fun DIY kit that I’ve made before – you make the “soft serve” and pipe it into a cone, a tartlet, and between wafers, and decorate. The wrapper around the kit has cut out items too, and there are instructions for making two-color swirls!
Acecook Mr. Baryi Shio Cup Noodle (Oki) Cup noodles! This is a seafood flavored noodle with bamboo shoots, egg, green onion, and Mr. Baryi fishcakes.
Pretty much the cutest cup of ramen you’ll ever see.
I can’t wait for my husband to make this one!
Meiji Curl (Oki) These are buttery soy flavored corn curls and it has the familiar Karl mascot on the front. The flavor is very difficult to place! Tom likened them to a savory version of sugar smacks, which is totally wrong (I think? I’m not really sure I’ve ever eaten those!). They’re like mildly cheesy and buttery cheese balls except curl shape and texture.
Kanefuju Mentaiko Beef Potato Chips (Puchi + Oki) Well the description of these is interesting – “Potato chips that have a well-balanced falvour between the thick mayonnaise, beef, and spicy cod roe. The best flavour combination.” I was with them until cod roe but it turned out that these were pretty great!
I was pretty impressed by this packed snack box! It was really full of interesting and unique flavors that I’d never tried before (and to think, I thought I might be running out of Japanese snacks to try!). All the goods were top notch and from recognizable and reputable brands, too. I loved how there were a couple limited edition snacks in the box, and that they weren’t strictly limited to the large box, which did have premium items like the DIY candy kit and cup noodles!

That ramen is hilarious — I bought it from a japanese snack website not realising there were little printed chicken cakes inside! I was very surprised but holy crap it was cute.
Is it super fishy tasting? The baby loved the beef potato chips, which is odd. Then again he loved those crazy trader joes thanksgiving meal chips too.
I didn’t find it to be fishy at all! I ordered it blind not knowing the English translation — when I see chicken, I think chicken, so I was expecting chicken when I ate it! The little chickens themselves (which are apparently fishcakes) taste like nothing, to be honest. Maybe just try adding half the package of seasoning to start? It tastes a LOT better than it smells, to be honest LOL.
hmmmm i think i’ll have tom make it for himself and then hold my nose and try it! thank you!!!
