boxycharm october 2015 box BoxyCharm is a makeup and beauty subscription box that sends out 4-5 deluxe and full size samples every month. They’re mostly full-size products (4 full size and one deluxe sample) and the boxes have been able to maintain a consistently high value. The outer box has been redesigned and is now sleek and black.

The October theme was Faces of the Moon. Haha.

boxycharm october 2015 review

Everything in the October box! FYI there are often 2 variations of this box, none for the last several months, and then this month multiple ones!

Lord & Berry Line/Shade Eyeliner ($18) Made with kajal and kohl. The tip of mine broke off when I swatched. I’m not sure why. Anyone else with that problem? It was a standard black liner – soft but not a gel pencil sort of soft. I got one in an ipsy bag about a year ago that I preferred because it was sample size. I know, I’m weird. It’s because I have terrible eyesight and have to get so close to the mirror.

Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara ($22.56) This is a serious mascara wand, and I love it! My favorite mascaras come with huge brushes, are filled with fibers and are volumizing, and this really fits the bill. I was really happy with this one – not too wet either.

In place of this item subscribers may have received:

Vincent Longo Trio Shadow

Cargo Cosmetics Blush

Beauty For Real Lip Creme

Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask ($64) This is a 99% Natural, 70% organic super creamy mask. I tried it out and it made my face a bit red – but didn’t last until morning, so I thought it was fine. I think it may really be more of a mini-peel than a mask, I’m not sure. You leave it on for 10-30 minutes and wipe off with a washcloth in circular motions to help exfoliate. Skip this one if you have sensitive skin. FYI – In my test my hand didn’t get red, but my face did.

Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain in Coral ($19.99) I thought this was really pretty for cheeks, not so much for lips for my coloring. It went on and blended well!

Swatches!

Cult Cosmetics Nail Polish- Boneyards ($12) Finally, a Halloween-perfect nail color! This is really a gray, not even a greige. It’s perfect for the theme and for October!

I really liked this box – it had a value of around $137 and had some really great items in it – but some subscribers might have been unhappy with that mask. It worked for me but please be careful. The mascara really tipped the scales on this one for me too.  I wouldn’t ever pay retail for these items, but I feel that the box really is worth $21 and one of the best beauty deals out there. FYI the Charms rewards program is back online – and you can now skip or cancel this box online! According to Boxycharm, your first box will always be the current month’s box, unless they say otherwise on their site, so if you want this box, sign up before the end of the month!
