Undershirt Subscription is a quarterly men’s undershirt subscription box. Get rid of your stained armpits one box at a time! When you sign up you’ll select crew or v-neck, sizes S-XXL.  I thought the packaging was pretty sharp for a simple undershirt subscription.

The first thing I noticed is that the shirts were stamped with the date they were sent.  This is genius.  As noted in the welcome letter, the idea is that you toss out the nastiest shirts in your drawer upon receipt of each quarterly shipment — after subscribing for a year, you can start discarding the shirts from the previous year, so you will always have shirts less than a year old.

The date stamp is a really cool innovation — it is so simple, but it is what makes the subscription brilliant.  I don’t know how many times I’ve gone to prune my undershirt drawer and stood there agonizing over a methodology for choosing the “worst” shirt to toss.  This is simple.

I think this sums up the value proposition.

At $10 a shirt, the per shirt cost is not super cheap, but the value lay in reminding you to cycle out your nasties.  It’s also worth noting that undershirts really aren’t that cheap at a brick and mortar, so the subscribe and forget convenience is worth the minor premium.
