October’s Barkbox theme was Halloween! Barkbox is a subscription box just for dogs. Each box has 4-6 dog products and are customized to the size of your pup. For about the past year every box has been themed, which I love, and I think we can safely assume that they will all be that way! We get the small dog Barkbox for Lindy, our miniature schnauzer. Bocce’s Bakery Chicken Treats ($3.39) These are great all natural and wheat free treats. They’re made with oat flour, chicken, pumpkin, and rosemary (it’s a natural preservative and dogs happen to love the taste). This is a great item – but way overvalued on the card.
Etta Says PB Go Treats ($1.99) Pigdog already came and snuck this handful – they are definitely little dog approved. I doubt that big dogs received this in their box, but I’m not really sure. We love this brand and it was great to get a non-chew item from them!
Sawmill Creek Smokehouse Half Pig ($3) Lindy has totally been jonesing for a disgusting treat like this, and it totally fit the bill for her bizarre needs (which consist of sniffing, hiding, “burying”, and then suddenly consuming the treat at a yet to be determined time).
BarkMade Peek-A-Boo-Hoo ($15) This is basically a totally epic dog toy. It’s a witch hat with a crinkle brim, a nice stuffy owl with a squeaker. They come connected by a plastic piece but you just clip that off. This is hilarious – and explains the giant size of the box this month! I approve.
I loved the fun toy this month, but the value of this box has been lower the last two months. You’ll still do totally fine subscribing on an annual subscription – but with about $23 in value (because of the price discrepancy on the card), it doesn’t quite fill the bill for matching the price of the monthly box! No big deal for me because I get a yearly plan – but it’s something to keep in mind!
