pretend place diy projects july 2015 box

My Pretend Place is all about learning, dress-up, and adventure, including DIY adventures.  My Pretend Place offers a quarterly themed pretend play and dress up subscription box for children aged 3-6.  They also have a monthly Play Pretend Projects subscription!  The June box had a fantastic music theme! This box is designed for kids ages 3-8, with a great monthly project, including all the supplies.

One of the things I love best is that there are always enough supplies for two kids to participate every month.

My daughter also really digs the pretend letter. This months’ letter let the kids know they needed actors to perform “Molly’s Pirate Pursuit.”

My kids got right to work and I have been regaled with pirate ditties all afternoon. I love how my daughter put hearts all over hers and my son made a beard!

In addition, 2 sticker books were included, although there weren’t any suggestions on what to do with them.

Dad helped the kids make a pirate ship. Our son excitedly told the story of a monkey and a palm tree, and all sorts of interesting pirate things over and over. He was really proud of it (he even taped it to the wall!).

Our daughter wrote the title for him. It reads: The Pirate Adventure <- Arrgh that be a good title. (This is my favorite.) She wrote a “book” this morning called “My Pirate Adventure” and decorated it with the stickers.

This subscription has been so fun and has occupied my kids for many hours, I think they perhaps forgot to include some prompts for the stickers? I definitely see where they were going with the pirate play, but this box was just missing a little something and I think ideas for parents on what to do with the stickers (like make a pirate scene on paper, create a book, like my kids did) would have been helpful, but as usual my kids did their own thing and had lots of fun with it!  I’m curious to see what’s in next month’s box because we have really enjoyed this kids’ craft subscription.

My son definitely knew that it was dress-up time though, and demanded to be an astronaut next! (This was from the quarterly dress-up box).
