BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review – July 2015

BoxyCharm is a makeup and beauty subscription box that sends out 4-5 deluxe and full size samples every month. They’re mostly full-size products (4 full size and one deluxe sample) and the boxes have been able to maintain a consistently high value.

The July theme was Summertime Radness:

This is a great box!

yourMinerals Sweden Transparent Veil Setting Powder ($26) This is a very finely milled and soft powder with a silky texture – it’s fantastic, and I do not receive enough setting powders in boxes, so I am thrilled that it was in the box! The ingredient list is very simple –  Serecite, Iron oxides,, Kaolin clay. The website says mica, but I think that it’s a mistake – there’s nothing shimmery in here. I do not know how it would do on darker skintones but it was excellent for mine, and I think a tad mattifying too.

Vasanti Professional Blush Brush ($29 – that’s CAD – $22.77 USD) I had no idea Vasanti made cosmetics tools. This is a nice brush – but I would’ve been happy with their Brighten Up! face rejuvenator too 🙂 [everyone’s fave!]

MDMflow Greater Than Mascara (£21 – $32.83 USD) I love love big bold mascara with big brushes. This was a little thin for me for a single coat but I think plenty of people will enjoy it and I think it will layer really well – I just did a quick swipe.  I use basically zero drugstore products but Maybelline is still my go to (Full N Soft, I love you – but I need someone to send me that crazy colossal mascara ASAP!). I digress.

Gorge I’ll make you look amazing daily spray ($24.95) I got this spray in my Summer FabFitFun VIP box and I really like it – it’s very lightweight but conditioning, and very multipurpose (FYI that box is still available if you need it!). I love the scent – very summery!

OFRA Cosmetics Lip Liner ($13) I have seen Ofra a few too many times in this box but… I love the color and  this liner draws an excellent line.

Around $120 in value in the July Boxycharm! I really don’t think that anyone would spend that much on these products, but for $21, it’s a total steal. Boxycharm is one of the few really makeup-centric subscriptions with just enough tools, hair products, and nails to keep me happy. I think this was one of my favorite boxes from them, and I’m really particularly pleased with the curation and value this month.
