awesome pack review

Awesome Pack is a whole family fun subscription box with a board game in every box. Whether your family includes kids or not – choose either the family box or the Big Kid box, for the game loving fun at heart big kids – this is a great fun box that will keep you away from your screen! Awesome Pack curated this box for my family, which includes mom, dad, a 6 year old girl, a 4 year old boy, an 8 month old baby, and a dog. Every box will include a board game and other fun activities selected based on your preferences. Family Boxes include a family board game, and Big Kid boxes are for kids 12+ and will include higher quality (and more advanced!) games and other activities.

This box was curated for us. Last month we got a more adult-focused board game, and this one was about family fun!

An information card detailing all the items is in the box – plus the Awesomely Awesome Activity Book!

The kids got right to work. To be honest, we photographed the box on Friday night, and on Saturday morning I discovered they snagged everything. So much fun new stuff!

IMG_1178

I didn’t really investigate what they were doing, because they were busy for hours between the activities in the book, and the extra fun activities.

Sticky Mosaics Unicorn ($4) This is a favorite activity of my kids. My son needs help but my daughter doesn’t need one bit, so it was perfect!

Crayola Modeling Clay ($6.54) So heavy! This was in the box as a family activity, and as you can see below, the kids worked together!

Awesome Pack Pen ($2) My husband got ridiculously excited about this pen! We got one last month, and I guess he likes it!

IMG_1190

She did this right away and loves it. We’ll be hanging it on the wall!

IMG_1195

They love clay, and it’s actually way less messy than play-dough. Great choice!

IMG_1198

Our modeling clay is in a zipper bag waiting to be played with again – you can resculpt it!

Mr. Men Little Miss Meet the Mr. Men! ($4)

The Amazing Spider Man Arachnid Abilities ($4)

These were both cute, sturdy, and fun board books! My son is a huge Spidey fan and my daughter loves the Mr.Men/Little Miss characters. She even has a “Little Miss Chatterbox” mug (because she never. ever. stops. talking!). As I was writing this review these books were being read!

Water Blasting Buddy Water Blaster ($12?) I have no idea on the retail of these, but who cares? They’re cute and fun! I was happy to see there was a parental water blaster included so we can squirt them ourselves!!!

catch a falling star board game

Catch a Falling Star/La mysterieuse Étoile Filante Board Game ($39.99) Another unique board game that’s totally new to us. It’s sort of Jenga like and the illustrations are beautiful.

“Catch a Falling Star” Magnetic Balancing Family Board Game – A New Twist on Pick up Sticks Meets Jenga: “What was that?” . . . a bright gleam crosses the night sky and disappears into the dark backyard with a quiet “plop.” A mysterious shooting star has fallen to earth and is stuck on the clothes line! Now players can try to give back the rays to the little star as carefully as possible, without letting any pieces fall down. Some rays will stick to the star, while others will not. Will you be the first to give all of your rays back to the star? You’ll need skill and luck to Catch a Falling Star and help it be complete again! For 1 to 5 Players, 20 Minute Playing Time, Ages 5 to Adult

This is a great game, and my kids figured out how to set it up! Depending on which kid(s) we play with we simplify the rules, but it’s a nice coordination game and led to a lot of laughter!

IMG_1193

This was another awesome Awesome Pack! It’s always full of neat surprises and just fun activities, plus my kids thoroughly enjoy the monthly activities book! I love making sure the kids are either playing together or we’re doing a family activity whenever they “have nothing to do” and this is perfect for making sure they’re off those pesky iPads.

IMG_1146

Oh right, and if your family includes dogs, you can include an item for them to join in the fun too! Lindy received an Orbit Flying Disc ($14) and while she’s not really a frisbee catcher, the kids did engage with a nice game of tug with her on this one!

This box was hours of fun, and I liked how much of the box is reusable. I would say we already got at least 2-3 times as many hours of fun out of the box as going to the movies, the price is way less, and much more active!
