Plated has been SO good lately! Sometimes I don’t feel like ordering them, and then other weeks (like this one) we order 4 meals. Plated sends weekly dinner kits with high quality ingredients. They say they’re subscription only now – not true. We turn off automatic shipments and order the meals we like.

The recipe card is new and fresh for 2015, though I wish it would indicate the ease of the meal. FYI – when your box ships Plated reminds you what pantry items you need to have on hand.

When you sign up for Plated with this link or use code b0c635, you’ll get 2 free plates with your first order. Sometimes we order and sometimes Hello Fresh. It just depends on what meals we’re interested in. [Hello Fresh: Take $40 off your first box with coupon code 7UT7K8]

Chicken Tikka Masala – This was much spicier than we’d anticipated! Plated’s Garam Masala blend definitely packs a punch. It was intense!

This dish skipped the rice in favor of naan (and who wouldn’t?). It was excellent.

Beer-Battered Fish and Chips with Lemony Peas – This was a truly amazing meal. Freshmade battered fish created with a seltzer batter made it super light and crispy. The chips (fries) were superb. IMG_8558

The peas, of course, are very English. The sauce really was icing – the technique that Plated gave us made it top notch and the horseradish/vinegar/mayo/caper sauce was just incredible. Will make and order again if it comes up!

Cheesy Beef Enchiladas with Avocado, Spinach, and Black Beans – Who doesn’t love enchiladas?  Everyone does!IMG_8580

These were rich and cheesy and made a super substantial amount.

The corn tortillas were a bit dry for my taste – I would prefer them swimming in sauce, but the flavors were great, it used Cholula hot sauce, and an entire avocado was provided!

Pork and Chive Burgers with Sriracha Aioli and Kimchi Slaw – I could eat this every day.  I really could. I think Plated should send at least one variation of lettuce wraps every week, and I always order them. IMG_8601

Everything about this dish was just sublime – the ground pork and chives and seasonings mixed for the burgers, the sriracha, garlic, and mayo combined for the aioli, and the kimchi carrot slaw was an OMG! It used kimchi, carrot, scallion, vinegar, and rice wine oil.

This is the first week ever that I saved two cards (and that I ordered four meals). You can of course download them from your account but I like to save my very favorites.

So that’s what we made with our box this week!  You can use code b0c635 to sign up for Plated and get 2 free plates with your first order!

Loved the Tikka Masala. I tasted a bit of the spice first & decided to just use half of it – which was the perfect amount for me. Now I have the rest of the spice pack to make this recipe again.
