GlobeIn is one of my favorite boxes right now! I am loving this one. I wish they would screen that print on paper and send it in a box! GlobeIn Artisan Gift Box is a monthly subscription box full of artisan goods from producers all over the world. GlobeIn sources its products exclusively from non-profits, artisan collectives and other organizations that ensure a fair wage is paid to the artisans and farmers. This subscription was recently pepped up a bit – no more variations, higher value, and I have to say that I’m really loving it.
The April GlobeIn theme is “Bake.”
The GlobeIn box comes with a nice tri-fold full color information card. The letter discusses the Bake theme. Each box includes stories on the country of origin of each product as well as the stories of the artisans and farmers who create them. The box uses retail + shipping price on their values, which of course I don’t do for box calculations, but since most of these items aren’t available with free shipping, it’s something to consider!
Instead of a recipe this month, there was a list of 10 things to do with coconut oil!
The May box! Every GlobeIn box I have received comes packed in the outer box and most everything is inside the nice leaf basket.
Toockies Certified Organic Cotton & Jute Scrub Cloths ($10) These supposedly can be used on any surface without scratching! I need a good scrubber for my stove and I can’t wait to put them in service. So handy!
You can visit the website and see the wish of the artisan who crafted your scrubbers.
I love reading their wishes, it’s a great reminder of how fortunate we are and how these women are working to better themselves and their families.
Big Dipper Birthday Candles ($5) These are absolutely gorgeous and we will for sure think of something fun to do with them. I love how they’re 100% beeswax. I never really thought about our birthday candles before and greening them up.
Just Good Chocolate Better World Brownies ($6.75) I hear these are super duper delish. And dark chocolate too. I know I’ll love everything about this mix (and I’m happy it’s not a prepared brownie because then we’d have to eat it right away). My kids will love these. I think I’ll make them to share on a playdate so all the adults can dig in too.
Alter Eco Organic Mascobado Cane Sugar ($4.39) This was a heavy box and between the brownies and the sugar, I know why! This delicious, organic, pure, and unrefined sugar has all sorts of notes including vanilla, caramel, marshmallow, and molasses. Everything we love in sweet things. This will pair excellently in any baked treat, or a great coffee.
Kelapo Coconut Oil ($3.95) We’ve been using coconut oil forever and although I buy it in bulk, I also love these little packets, which are great for a quick application anywhere, or for travel. It’s great for moisturizing!
I love the palm leaf basket ($12) that is in every box. They’re woven by Oaxacan artisans and dyed with natural paints. I’ve been collecting these for decor in my kids’ “adventure/global” playroom.
Fun quote on the outside of the box. This was an excellent box and I thoroughly enjoyed it! We can’t wait to make some birthday brownies. Maybe for Lindy’s birthday next month (our dog – of course she won’t be eating any!). The total value was around $42, and with the shipping it would have been quite a bit more. What a fantastic box, and like I said – one of my current favorites, for the past 3 or 4 months!
