comic con box

Comic Con Box is (another) brand new geeky monthly subscription. This one brings you Comic Con in a box – and is perfect for anyone who loves the kind of toys, tech, and gaming you would see at a ComicCon convention. Boxes are $29.99 per month plus shipping ($7 for me). Boxes include exclusives, collectibles, autographs, and many other amazingly awesome things you would severely GEEK-OUT to at a Comic Con including toys, comics, artwork, shirts, and various discounts.

They have an unboxing prize! Videos only 🙁 What my witty written repartee and gorgeous photographs don’t do it for you? For me, my first reaction isn’t always my final thought. I guess boxes like unboxing because they think people are more excited when they open a box than after thinking about it, but for me the opposite is true.

comic con box unboxingWe were extremely psyched to open the first box! It looked great.

comic con info

I think they could’ve done better with the info card!

Funko Hello Kitty Zombie ($12) Finally, a Funko of my very own! My son won’t steal this one (too creepy for my 4 year old) but I love it!

K’Nex Plants v. Zombies Mystery Figure ($3.49) Mine is cool, and it spins.

Dragon Age: Redemption ($3) Dragon Age: Redemption is a six-part webseries based on the BioWare video game series of the same name. It is created by and stars Felicia Day.  I don’t value this item very highly because it’s just a DVD pressing of a freely available web series.

There is nothing more Comic Con than this item. Really. Felicia Day is in fact a Vampire Slayer as well as has a recurring role on Supernatural.  If Joss Whedon had a soul he’d reboot Buffy with her, and it would be awesomesauce. I’m praying for a Supernatural: Charlie spin-off. Well, I was until I just read a spoiler from last night’s episode on Felicia Day‘s wikipedia page.

Walking Dead Mystery Mini ($8) I’m not a TWD fan at all but my father in law is and I honestly rely on boxes to do all his shopping. He will receive this for father’s day.

Danger Zombies Run Gum ($1) Just some novelty gum (judging by the ingredients).

The Zumbies Walking Thread Zombie Doll & Collector Card ($8)  I loved the Hello Kitty Zombie Funko but I admit I was a bit let down by the zombie theme. This one is going to my niece (she’s the one who just reviewed the TomBox). She’ll love it!

The Running Dead T-Shirt ($15) This one is of respectable quality, with a frankly gigantic print. I ordered a size M in this box, which will neither work for the skinny bones long distance runners we have in the family or my father in law, and I’m not sure what I’ll do with it – too scary for the kids.

I CAN HAS WHITEWALKERZ? #WalkerKitty ($15) I LOVE this print and it’s super high quality in both the printing and the paper. I use the MSRPs for prints (I get a lot in my girly boxes), which I don’t usually think are worth that much (this is an 8×10) and this one I’m putting my own tag on.  I would pay for this!

comic con wolverine exclusive

Marvel NOW! Wolverine Comic 001 Variant Cover ($3.99) I was impressed that this came in a sleeve with a stiff cardboard backer. Unsurprisingly Comic Con got their comic handling right (better than Marvel!). Two variations were sent out.

The box also contained a two week trial to CON TV.

And a $10 off $20 unique (I think) code to Toywiz.com. This is the kind of code I’m excited to see from this box and even though I have to pay to use it, I very likely will!

Around $70 in value packed into this box. While I wasn’t personally keen on the theme or the shirt, I thought this box was a good one. It’s definitely the year of the geek/comic/hero/nerd/superfan box and we have really been enjoying all of them!

I was extremely disappointed in this box. Had I known it was going to be basically a zombie themed I would have not bought it. Where is comic con primarily zombie themed? One item, ok, but the whole box my gosh give me a break. So mad and such a waste of my money. !

what i thought was weird is that they didn’t actually say it was a theme – even though it was pretty obvious!

No idea. I missed box 1 by ~6 hours. Sold out. Just watched Paterma Invert on Amazon Prime. I must say its a delightful movie. A good choice by Comic Con Box

Right when I hit send I actually read your whole note that it wasn’t yours. Thank you for writing a nice response to a dumb question 🙂

I subscribed to box 2 with Ironman as my favorite character. Will update if I get a different item in May. By the way, thank you for all the great reviews on subscription boxes.

Other than the Wolverine comic, I want EVERYTHING, especially that White Walker print. I wouldn’t have been interested in the box because no one at my house like superheroes, but zombies? Yes, please!

Looks like DVD varies from box to box. Someone got a blu-ray of Patema Inverted.

What did you put on your list as your favorite superhero? I put Wonder Woman, because it’s my husband’s favorite. My son would say Captain America. Wondering if it’s random distribution or profile based.

Wow! This looks great. I’m not into the theme o the first box, but think they did an excellent job with it.

Not going to lie, glad I missed the first box. I’ve already signed up for the next one, so hopefully it’s not Walking Dead-theme 2 in a row. I’ve never watched the show. But looks like a good value for fun items 🙂
