Authentic Beauty Concept Dry Shampoo ($11) I’ve tried a lot of beauty items over the years and some items are not for me, and dry shampoo is on that list. I sprayed it on my hand and it came out wet and quickly dried, like hairspray. I didn’t see any powder at all, which I usually encounter with other brands. I feel like this isn’t what most people would expect in a dry shampoo — it’s more of a texturizing spray that helps achieve a tousled style and that refreshes hair with a floral-scented fragrance.
Owl in a Towel Balsam Fir Hand Cream ($11) This hand lotion is scented with balsam fir oil, and it reminds me of a pine tree and Christmas! It’s a non-greasy hand lotion made with ingredients such as shea butter, glycerin, and coconut oil. The tube itself is made from sugarcane!
EqualRXN Oat Milk PHA Serum ($28) This serum is supposed to gently exfoliate, hydrate, and calm the skin. It has ingredients like glycerin, lactobionic acid, oat extract, and shea butter. It’s supposed to leave skin with a silky feeling after applying. Apply to clean, dry skin after toning and use twice a day. I thought it felt sticky after applying but there wasn’t much scent, always a plus.
Ada Lip Beauty Lip Rally Lip Scrub ($18) This was a fun find! It’s an exfoliating lip scrub but you don’t have to dip your finger into a tub of scrub, just pass the wand/stick over your lips a few times and it will do its magic. It’s made with sugar, cocoa butter, shea butter, and more. No water is needed, and you can lick it off if you like (I just rinsed in the shower) but after the sugar is gone a light coating of moisturizing butters/oils is left behind. It smells sweet and a bit fruity. This was a fun item to try and I kept waiting for it to break but so far it’s still intact!
Evolue Hydrating Serum ($22) The card said there was a bonus item and I think this may vary from box to box. I received a hydrating serum that is filled with several different weights of hyaluronic acid, which are supposed to hydrate various layers of the skin. My skin absorbed it immediately and there was no sticky residue, plus, no scent that I could detect.
This month’s Vegancuts Beauty Box had had items for the hands, hair, and face, and I appreciate the variety. My favorite item is the lip scrub – it was easy to use, smelled wonderful, and worked really well to leave my lips soft. I also liked the hand lotion, it reminds me of the holidays or camping in the forest. The value for this collection (without the bonus item, which may vary) was around $68.
