Satva Box is a monthly subscription box that sends natural beauty products at affordable prices. The word “satva” means pure in Sanskrit and the items sent will be free of parabens and other nasties. The cost is $14.99 a month with discounts on 3 or 6-month terms. When you sign up you can choose from the regular Satva Box or the Vegan Box. I am reviewing the regular, non-vegan box.

I love product info cards and this one is helpful, detailed, and gives the suggested retail value of each item.

Everything in my box! I love Satva and have discovered lots of new brands through this subscription.

Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap ($4.74) There isn’t a list of ingredients available for this soap, it just says that it’s made in India and “prepared from genuine herbal extracts and high-quality vegetable oils.” My husband loved it and said it was gentle on his sensitive facial skin. I liked the way it sudsed up well and rinsed clean, but it burned, and I mean BURNED, my more delicate, um, body parts. It also left my bedroom and bathroom smelling like lime candy!

Meow Meow Tweet Baking Soda Free Deodorant Cream in Lavender ($14) I have been impressed with natural deodorants lately. Sure, they may not stop sweating, since they aren’t antiperspirants, but they do leave me stink-free and I have been using them almost exclusively on the weekends (not ready to make the jump to the work week!).

Rub a pea sized amount of this natural lavender scented cream in your pits and you’re good to go. I used it after shaving and my arms didn’t burn! Arrowroot powder, coconut oil, and shea butter are some of the ingredients in this vegan offering.

DeVita Absolute SoftLines Eyeliner Pencil in Earth ($14.95) First off, let me say thank you to Satva for sending a brown eyeliner. Black is too harsh for my age and pale skin tone so this shade was perfect for me. Check out the in-cap sharpener and opposite end smudger; very convenient.

This eyeliner broke as soon as I swatched it (shown below) so I used the cap to make it pointy again. I tried applying it but it wasn’t very smooth and tugged at the delicate skin around my eyes. The card suggests blasting with a hair dryer first to soften it up.

Ellovi Tinted Rose Lip Butter ($5) Ellovi prides itself on using no more than 6 ingredients in their products. This smooth lip butter is made with sunflower, macadamia, Hawaiian coconut, & African marula oils, shea butter, and gets its color from alkanet root. So pure you can eat it, which I wouldn’t suggest, but the lipstick disappears SOMEWHERE after I apply it.

This softened my lips nicely. The color was very sheer, so you can apply it without a mirror.

Here are the lip butter and eyeliner swatches. I rubbed the lip butter over my arm about 5 times to get that color payoff, and you can see the broken tip of the eyeliner. I do like the liner shade.

Satva is one of my favorite boxes and I’m always impressed with what shows up each month! There were two full-sized makeup products this month and a full-sized deodorant and soap, which is awesome for a natural beauty box at this price point! My box had a value of $38.69 and surprisingly, the deodorant was my favorite item, and my husband wants some more of that soap!

Tip: For your hmmm … delicate parts you should be using special soap found in the feminine hygiene aisle in stores. Summer’s Eve etc. It is gentle and has the correct ph level so as not to burn. Good luck.

Annabella, thanks for the tip! I use Dove for sensitive skin and haven’t had any problems, I just didn’t expect it from this soap. (Painful) lesson learned!
