Even the padding in the box is exquisite! All of the luxury goods arrive cradled in a custom foam insert topped with a layer of soft fabric.
It all has a very high-end feel to it, and unboxing everything from the custom case makes you feel a bit like a secret agent selecting your gear.
The story of the premium products is told through a giant, novella-sized booklet with multi-page featurettes on each selection.
The styling of the booklet is very sleek and elegant – a peak inside the front cover reveals the brands featured in the box.
A short note from Daniel Curtis, Founder of Robb Vices, dedicates this edition to some of the simple pleasures of the season.
Though every product is treated in detail elsewhere in the book, this section gives a quick run-through of the contents and their significance to the collection.
Rosé is the drink of the season, and the back of the booklet includes several recipes contributed by Victoria James, Wine Director at Piora in New York.

Dana Confection Co. Nougat Bar ($6): A soft and chewy delight, nougat is more than just something to bury in a corner store candy bar. This elegant version is in the style of the warm weather, nut-studded treat enjoyed throughout the Mediterranean.
This version contains shards of pretzel, big macadamia nuts, bits of ground coffee bean, and cocoa nibs.
I found this to be done more in the French style, with the nougat itself being celebrated, and the mix-ins provided as accents.
The Drop Rose Wine ($9.99): A modern rosé that appreciates the mobile lifestyle of today’s wine drinkers, “bottled” in a can for maximum portability – great for picnics, hikes, the beach, festivals, clumsy folks, etc.
Each can holds a quarter liter of wine. I thought the labeling sold the wine short on this point, as it states it holds a quarter of a one liter bottle, when most bottles are 750 ml. A blend of Chenin Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel, it has a sweet, fruity nose, but drinks much drier. Lots of beautiful minerality at play, too. The slight bit of carbonation pairs well with the minerals and the whisper of breadiness. This is the perfect wine to convert light beer drinkers.

We logged on and were able to see the varieties available. Depending on the variety, the oysters are ordinarily $35-$40, making this a great coupon. You do have to pay shipping, which is $5o FedEx. This is still a great deal. If you live in the North or inland, its not uncommon to see oysters for $4 – $6 a piece and up (at least anywhere you would want to eat them). Near my relatives’ in Florida, you can get Apalachicola oysters for $1 a piece, but they won’t be in season until September. This is a good deal wherever you are.
The box included a pristine half-shell to whet our appetites.
You could see where ours had attached to the farming medium.
Soireehome The Tempour ($14.04): This blows your standard pourer and stopper out of the water. It combines a pour spout, aerator, stopper, and chilling mechanism into a single device.
It included a small brush for cleaning, but a rinse in warm water would probably do the trick.
The spout can be used separately from the cooling cylinder (cools in the freezer prior to use).
The spout makes pouring easy, and the stopper fits right in it, so no need to swap them out. The spout has an internal mesh that aids in aerating the wine.
2015 Macari Rose ($19): It is rosé season, and this lovely Long Island wine is a perfect bottle with which to kick of the celebration.
The 2015 Macari is predominantly made from Merlot and Carbernet Franc, with some Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay added in for interest.
A fruity nose introduces a light and crisp wine with an abundance of juicy fruit flavor. Strawberry and watermelon are the most expressive flavors, with a slight cranberry or raspberry tartness joining in. A very refreshing wine with good bit of minerality.
Because a big part of the box’s focus is on wonderful wine, they’ve included some lovely reclaimed leather accessories from Vacavaliente.
Vacavaliente Leather Wine Bag: Robb Vice has spared us the indignity of toting a paper bag to our next gathering with this custom madewine tote.
The Robb Vice emblem is embossed on the side, but it is very subdued and doesn’t detract from the elegance of the bag.
White stitching adorns the seams, and the Vacavaliente mark resides near the base.
The bag comfortably fits a standard 750 ml bottle, with handles extending above. The leather cushions the bottle from fine point impacts and even stands upright when set down.
Vacavaliente Leather Wine Rack ($55): Very lightweight and attractive, this rack goes with most decor. This soft-side rack collapses when not filled, so it can be packed for travel, but it doesn’t fold completely flat (or stay that way), so it won’t be fitting in any drawers.
When not completely full, the rack still looks cool, and the design prevents it from rolling or tumbling. You can see the Robb Vice logo on the sleeve.
The peek-a-boo sleeves let you see the label of the bottles without removing them.
With a few bottles in it, the rack holds its shape.
Drink Pink: A Celebration Of Rosé by Victoria James ($11.67): The booklet contains a discount code for 35% off of Victoria James’ “Drink Pink,” plus free ground shipping. The young and widely respected Wine Director shares her favorite recipes and more, touting the wonders of this often underappreciated style of wine.
The Robb Vices box is certainly one of the best subscription values you can get, particularly if you like luxury. This box came in at about $150 value, exclusive of the custom wine carrier, which probably would retail for $25 or more. The last box was really incredible, so I was very curious to see if Robb Vice could maintain the astronomical value with every box. They did a pretty good job. There were fewer coupon type items to redeem in person, so though the value was lower, more of the box was ready for immediate use. The curation for this edition was also very focused and well executed, and the luxury feel is certainly present.
