The August box was the first month that had a theme which was Villains. The September box theme is Heroes.
Here are the items in the September Powered Geek Box. The mug was wrapped in bubble wrap and arrived in perfect condition.
PA Anna: The Pop Heroes! Super Heroes: The Flash ($8.42) arrived in time for The Flash Season 3 Premier. T (17) claimed the recliner, popped the popcorn and watched it.
T (age 17): Flash! He’s in his regular red and yellow suit. It’s a good time to be Flash, with season 3 of The Flash premiering 10/4/16 and two cameos in the DCCU.
PA Anna: Even Super Heroes need to shop. The Marvel Comics Packable Shopper ($8.88) is a tote that wipes clean with a damp cloth, folds up and snaps into a square, and is oversized. The best part of the tote is that it is covered with Marvel Comic Book Covers.
T: This bag looks cool. I love that it’s covered in covers of really old Marvel comics. Including one where Wolverine fights the Hulk but doesn’t have his trademark mask on.
PA Anna: The boys love blinds. They could not wait to see what was in the Megaman Backpack Hangers Blind ($9.99).
T: We received Roll, who is Megaman’s sister and also a robot. Do robots have siblings?
PA Anna: The details are amazing in the Marvel Thor Magnet ($4.05).
T: Thor is decked out in all his… Thor-ness… He’s in his classic attire, although I don’t see the point behind him wearing a cape. He can fly without it, unlike Dr. Strange.
PA Anna: The magnet reminded me of the Thor lookalike in Adventures in Babysitting.
PA Anna: T loves men accessories. Marvel Avengers Shield Eagle Logo Lapel Pin ($4.23) is a pewter lapel pin that will look great on a shirt.
T: S.H.I.E.L.D. Pin!! The Special Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division may exist no more on the big screen, but with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. thriving on TV and Samuel L Jackson saying S.H.I.E.L.D. may very well return, there’s hope! This pin will hold me over until it happens.
PA Anna: The Wonder Woman Mug ($5.99) is an 11.5 oz mug that is dishwasher and microwave safe. It will hold us over until the Wonder Woman movie is released in 2017. There are lots of rumors on the net about her love life in the movie. I am curious to see which way DC goes with it.
T: Wonder Woman! Wow, this is artwork from more than 70 years ago! SO much has changed. Now she has her own movie coming out on June 2nd. Will Gal Gadot live up to the hype? Let’s hope so.
PA Anna: Powered Geek has us ready to celebrate Batman Day on September 17th, 2016 with a Retro Batman t-shirt. It reminds me of the 1960s TV show logo. The shirt is a 50/50 cotton poly blend.
T: This looks like the logo from Batman The Brave and the Bold. but it’s a little different. I looked around and I’m not sure what exactly it’s from. It’s a really nice shirt, though.
I did find it odd that the tag appears to be cut away.
T said it is one of the most comfortable shirts ever. The tote folds into the flaps which snap shut for easy storage.
It’s an oversized bag with a lot of detail.
T’s Final Thoughts: I can’t wait to cut the Batman t-shirt into a muscle tee to use in cross-country practice. I also like that they included Batman, Wonder Woman, and Flash who all appear in the Justice League Movie scheduled to be released on November 17, 2017.
PA Anna’s Final Thoughts: Powered Geek Box’s strength is that they include excellent items that are relevant to that month. The Retro BatMan T-shirt was an awesome inclusion for Batman Day. The POP! Heroes The Flash figure was a great way to kick off the 3rd Flash season. The box contained both DC and Marvel picks along with Megaman. The variety is great and features popular fandoms. Powered Geek Box is an excellent gamer/geek box for teenagers and adults
