Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.
I just love the black and white sticker on this box. Every time I open it, I think it’s such a classy touch. Unusually crooked this month!
Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.
That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store only.
The theme is Feel the Love!
This month you were supposed to cut up your information sheet and share the love. Cute idea.

This fold-out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!
All the items in the box are kept in a white pouch with the theme printed on it.
Everything in my box! See the spoilers for all the variations here. This is box #151.
Chloe Eau De Parfum Natural Spray ($3) A light floral perfume that smells like roses mixed with magnolia and lily of the valley with hints of amber and cedarwood. It has a light scent to it that is very feminine and intimate.
The honey base seems to soften the powder of the rose. It’s a nice romantic sample for February!
Sephora Collection Rouge Matte in Rebel Chic ($4.42) This lipstick has a deep red shade with a matte finish. It is one of the seven shades in this exclusive Sephora collection. Even though this lipstick has a matte finish, it has shea butter that provides moisture to the lips so it doesn’t dry them out and I’m in love with the color – it’s like a deep winey merlot.
Nars Matte Velvet Lip Pencil in Let’s Go Crazy ($20.25) I’m not a strong lover of pink lips, especially in this hot pink shade, but I think this vivid pink shade can still work if you really want to pull off a statement lip. The finish is velvety matte and this pencil has rich pigment and a non-drying formula. It’s easier to apply in pencil form, and well, really pink! See the swatch below!
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rosegold ($17.68) One of Laura Mercier major league products is this creamy eyeshadow in stick form. I like the buildable color, a shimmery golden pink shade. It’s a very subtle but pretty shade. It’s crease and transfer resistant and it also stays on for 12 hours. This item was also included in my November 2016 box, exact same shade, and December, in Au Naturel, 2017 boxes. A little too much repetition for me, but not all subscribers would have had that many repeats.
Here are the swatches for the 2 lipstick and cream eyeshadow. The Rouge Matte lipstick looks really great! I tried to wear the pink but my husband laughed at me. Better luck next time!
Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb ($9.60) This is probably my favorite item in this month’s box! It’s an amazing eye cream that moisturizes the skin for 26 hrs as it smooths it for a flawless makeup application. It works on all skin types in preventing dryness and dullness. It’s lightweight so you won’t even feel it’s there and I felt it really worked to combat my crepey eye crinkles.
Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm ($4.54) Removing makeup after a long tiring day is the worst but this cleansing balm tackles that issue. It removes all the makeup and dirt from pollution from the face as it nourishes the skin so it feels clean and smooth.
It can be used on all skin types. It’s gentle enough even for those with dry or sensitive skin and very lightweight. I absolutely adore the lime and bergamot scent and as a bonus it leaves your skin hydrated, but not greasy. I would reach for this to remove makeup that wouldn’t budge when I don’t have time to do a full wash for sure.
The theme for this month is Feel the Love and Sephora definitely delivered a lot of amazing in a box full of love. The skincare and makeup items from this subscription are always of high quality from the best brands out in the market. My favorite is absolutely the Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb with the Rouge Mat lipstick a close second. At about $59 in value with multiple high end samples I thought I definitely got my money’s worth!

I love this box! As a stay at home mom I think this is a little small fun treat for myself every month. My hubby don’t even notice the charge on the debit and it’s my little secret. Sometimes when the items don’t match I pass it onto my sister. But this month everything was perfect! It’s just so fun and I like to use the bags for small trinkets like bracelets and rings.
