Curiously enough I never received a sample selection email for my second account that’s on Birchbox Beta (that’s the one with the extra two full-size items). So I went ahead and chose the hair mist because I wanted to pick something for myself!
My box looked a teeny light this month!
Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume ($3.60) Well this sure is interesting. It’s so pure that it’s “pur” (that’s how it’s described). This single ingredient perfume is made out of Cetalox. It’s allergen free, usually a back note, and synthetic ambergris. It’s also sort of boring, and apparently, the ingredients (ethanol & the scent) are really cheap, so it’s massively overpriced as well. I think this is more interesting to experiment adding under other scents to mix them up a bit.
Mally Evercolor Waterproof Automatic Eyeliner in Black Cherry ($18) Nobody’s going to complain about a full-size anything in their Birchbox, and it was such a nice surprise to get this! The color was quite dark and when I hunted down the full line, they were almost all dark dark dark!
Juice Beauty STEM CELLULAR CC Cream ($3.90) Another tube of the odd-smelling Juice Beauty CC cream. This one doesn’t quite go with my skin, but I might use it on vacation or something. I don’t mind the smell and the sunscreen works well, but I wouldn’t buy it!
Harvey Prince Sea Salt Hair Mist ($1) This was my sample pick and it was really small! I loved the scent for me but I was really disappointed at the size!
Marcelle Hydra-C Energizing Hydrating Gel ($3.40) A vitamin-C based hydrating gel. I love gel moisturizers so this was a nice pick.
Although my box seemed light, it still had a $30 value, which is excellent for a $10 subscription – especially as you get points for reviewing your items (review, review review!).
