Macy’s Beauty Box delivers five deluxe beauty samples, one bonus item, and a collectible cosmetics bag for $15 per month. Beauty Box subscribers also get an exclusive $5 beauty coupon that can be use online and in-store.
The theme this month is BEAUTY PASSPORT.
From powders to moisturizers & more, this month’s box features sample-size goodies that keep you looking fresh & fabulous on the go!
You can also shop full size items at Macy’s.
You can find your exclusive $5 coupon at the back of the booklet. Unfortunately these coupons aren’t stackable from one month to the next. BUT there’s free shipping on all Macy’s Beauty orders. Check out these categories sorted from low to high price: Bath & Body, Natural Beauty, Makeup, Skincare, and Travel-size. You should be able to snag something free or for a few dollars (and try sorting the rest of the categories, too).
Everything in the September 2017 Macy’s Beauty Box!
Beauty Passport Cosmetic Bag. The included bag is definitely a step up from ipsy! September’s collectible bag is printed with this month’s theme. The style of this lined nylon bag was completely different from last month, which may have been special for the first bag.
Vince Camuto Ciao ($2.21)
This sweet, fruity scent comes in a sprayer and features a blend of citrus and berry notes with a lingering scent of vanilla and amber. It’s almost like sugared fruit and I enjoyed the scent! This is actually quite a hefty sample size!
Burt’s Bees Hand Salve ($2.49) This hand salve uses botanical oils, herbs and beeswax – but most importantly it doesn’t need to take up space in your quart size bag, because it’s not a liquid!
DermaBlend Pro Setting Powder ($4.82) Yay setting powder! This one is translucent on the skin, although darker skin tones might want to test out their tinted powders. It depends how much you need to set your makeup. I think this really helps my makeup last, and there’s a substantial amount in the sample jar.
Ahava Time to Clear Purifying Mud Mask ($7) I love taking AHAVA when I travel – it never irritates my skin so I’m always comfortable popping it into my bag. This mud mask uses dead sea mud to detoxify and absorb oils and the horsetail and jojoba in the formula are soothing and nourishing.
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance ($11) An under-makeup illuminating primer, this was a little leaky and I was glad that it didn’t leak any more.

This size is 1/2 the travel size and you can also use it for a finishing touch when you really don’t want to wear makeup but want to look a bit polished because of the pearly tint. This was the only “makeup” product in this box.
Clinique Moisture Surge ($5.6) I love cream gels – just a mild personal obsession! This one has a light scent with plumping power to smooth out fine lines, or you can use it as a moisture mask. It’s cooling, refreshing, and long lasting (and perfect for travel).
The total value of the September Beauty Box from Macy’s was about $33 – over twice the price of the box. Now that I know I can pump up the power of my box with some free or cheap items, I’m pretty happy with the $5 card – but sticking to the few brands that will allow me to do that might get old after a while. Like Sephora’s Play subscription, everything is basically a GWP item in this box – which is great if you can’t get to the store, but may be disappointing for frequent in-person shoppers. I like that the box is the same for all subscribers, but I can’t say that this is really worth $5 more than Sephora, except for that gift card. What did you think?
