Lootaku is a monthly geek subscription box from Hong Kong that brings high-quality geek and gamer items. The subscription costs $49.00 per month + shipping (currently about $17 to the US), and you’ll get 4-6 themed products, like plushies, action figures, memorabilia, etc., to satisfy your geeky cravings monthly – no fillers or promo items!

I like how the outside of the box is beautifully designed. A Chest – Full of Loot!

The item information card is thick and glossy, very detailed. When there are variations it typically lists each possible variation!

All the goodies inside my October Lootaku Box! The theme this month: Pokemon X Harry Potter! This box was so fun to open!

Harry Potter Hogwarts Crest Wax Seal + Sealing Wax ($13.99) I never expected this! A stick of real sealing wax was included, along with a wood-handled seal stamp.

lootaku-october-2016-7

The Hogwarts Crest! This is a fun item for pretend, just adding your own geeky touch, or even throwing a Harry Potter party.

Harry Potter Letter + Golden Ticket: This was right on top of the box and made it really exciting to open because there was a PRIVATE & CONFIDENTIAL missive delivered by Owl Post right on the top of the box. This entire thing is self explanatory!

You can see the stamp below. I love that they actually sealed up this letter.

lootaku-october-2016-10

A better look at the seal! It looks great in person but I had a touch of trouble capturing it in a photo.

Inside was Harry’s Hogwarts acceptance letter..

along with his ticket on the Express and his shopping/supplies list! I’m pushing 40 and I got excited when I opened this! It was very immersive!

Harry Potter Gryffindor Scarf ($24.95) Just like Hermione and the rest of the crew, this is absolutely perfect. I will totally wear this – as long as my kids don’t steal it first! They’ve been to several Harry Potter birthday parties already this year and guess what – even this much later, this story is just as magical

The detail on the Gryffindor patch is fantastic. What is YOUR house? More Potter stuff below, let’s get to Pokemon!

Crane King Pikachu Sleeping Bag Plush ($20) Subscribers received a random Pokemon Sleeping Bag collection or XY & Z Relax Time collection from the Banpresto monthly Ichiban Kuji lottery. These items are extremely limited but the same quality as a crane machine plush (hence the name Crane King).

It’s a bit hard to tell but it looks like I won the BIG plush, worth about $60. Sorry I don’t have the regular one to show you (they are smaller, about 7″ tall), but the details on Lootaku’s new upgrade system are below:

our new system gives all subscribers one entry in the draw based on every single box (including past boxes in our shop section) they have ever bought. So if you have bought a total of seven boxes (including the current month’s box), you will receive 7 entries into the draw for these upgrade items. Multiple month subscriptions will only count up to the current month’s box. All draws are made through a random computer generator for fairness.

Takara Tomy Great Ball Plush ($16.82) Subscribers received one of the following: Poke Ball, Great Ball, Hyper Ball, Master Ball, Repeat Ball, or Premier Ball. We got the Great Ball – and it’s actually weighted so it lands upright!

Pikachu’s tail!

The ball is about 5″ and came with all the proper tags.

Takara Tomy Pokemon Monster Collection: Subscribers received 2 random figures – Eevee, Terrakion, Zorua, Sawk, Keldeo, Nageki, Cobalion, Lanculus, Meloetta, Cryogonal, Sewaddle.

lootaku-october-2016-18

Nageki & Meloetta – I don’t quite understand the figures and the spinning bases (they don’t attach), but it’s a nifty idea, and probably mesmerizing if you’ve a bunch of them! I can’t say that I know a terrible amount about Pokemon, but my kids sure do and these figs were whisked away in an instant!

Harry Potter Map Print ($5 according to sheet) This map is really quite large (and yes, I need some poster putty for photos!) and packed full of detail and amazing references. How excited are you for Fantastic Beasts?! (THE MOST!)

lootaku-october-2016-20

It’s delightful and is making me want to do a full-on rewatch and reread (but in which order, I couldn’t tell you!).

lootaku-october-2016-21

All pupils shall be permitted to visit the village of Hogsmeade! Some subscribers received a custom made Marauder’s Map!

BONUS!

Harry Potter Wand ($7.90): Because of late shipping caused by a vendor delay, there were two small bonus items included! The first was this Harry Potter Wand keychain. I can definitely see it! The Amazon listing actually has an entire set, so you can collect your favorite wands.

lootaku-october-2016-4

BONUS!

Harry Potter Keychain Snitch Necklace ($6.95): The other bonus was this Golden Snitch necklace!

lootaku-october-2016-5

So cute and clever! This is just a fun little piece and it makes me not so secretly happy that this box was a little late!

Every few months this box seems to depart from the primary focus of Anime, superhero and other fandom figures and wander into fantasy, which is fantastic. It’s especially great for anyone who loves collecting and displaying figures, especially from Japan, but I have to say they do such a great job when they do fantasy, making it a fun and immersive experience – I wish they would do the same for the other months too!

What do you think about Lootaku?
