The latest Ipsy Icon Box has arrived and it was filled with a variety of beauty items. This quarterly upgrade comes with 8 full-sized products worth up to $350. Members get to choose three of their items from a few different options and this upgrade replaces your usual monthly bag for an additional cost. This season, the box was curated by Lisa Vanderpump, a television personality and restaurant owner. I received a beautiful eyeshadow palette, a color-changing clay mask, and a beautifully scented leave-in conditioner. Check out what I received below!

Amika Hydro Rush Intense Moisture Leave-In Conditioner ($29) Amika products always, always smell amazing, but I avoid them because my scalp is sensitive. I still tried this out, but avoided putting it on my scalp. I spritzed it into my hands, rubbed them together, and then applied to the ends of my hair before combing it out, and of course my hair was silky smooth and tangle-free in a moment. The ingredients include hyaluronic acid, sea buckthorn, and algae and some of the benefits it provides is hydration, detangling, and frizz reduction. I styled my hair as usual and was happy to find that my hair wasn’t weighed down, but oh that scent, it’s amazing! Amika says it’s a blend of warm vanilla, sweet clover, and citrus.

Korres Volcanic SkinReset Mask ($39) According to Korres this clay mask helps pores and uneven texture but I felt like it left my already dry skin even more so. You place it on dry skin and then start gently rubbing it around — there are beads that burst as you do so and the mask changes color. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing it all away. Some of the other ingredients in this mask are glycerin, glycolic acid, sea water, grape extract, lactic acid, and volcanic sand. There was no added fragrance and if you don’t have time to sit around waiting for it to dry then it can be used as an exfoliator.

Elemis Skin Buff Deep Cleansing Exfoliator ($49) Well, this is awkward because this product is an actual exfoliator. Some of the ingredients are sunflower seed oil, perlite (yes, like the stuff in gardening soil!), shea butter, beeswax, and beta carotene. Unfortunately fragrance is high on the list of ingredients, so those with sensitive skin, beware. The scent was strong and I didn’t find it pleasant at all, more like old fashioned perfume, with an underlying bit of possible rancidity. Anyways, I applied this to damp skin and rubbed it around a bit, it’s grainy, like superfine sand. I couldn’t wait to rinse it off, I felt like I was rubbing perfume into my face.

I “swatched” the exfoliators, with the Korres brand on top and Elemis underneath.

GLOW RECIPE Cloudberry Bright
Essence Toner ($40) When I think of toners I think of something that is poured onto a cotton ball and then wiped across the skin to remove makeup, dirt, oil, etc. This toner is to be applied with your fingertips and then gently pressed into skin before moving on with the rest of your routine. It’s supposed to balance the pH levels in the skin, even out the skin tone, and help the skin look brighter. There are a lot of essential oils and plant extracts in here, plus things like cloudberry concentrate, CoQ10, rice water, and glycerin. The product dispenses as a watery gel and has a soft, natural scent. It’s a little sticky until it dries down all the way, and it can be applied twice a day after cleansing.

BOBBI BROWN Smokey Eye Mascara ($23.50) Bobbi Brown long ago sold her brand to Estee Lauder, so if you want true Bobbi Brown makeup, you’ll need to check out Jones Road. This mascara is supposed to give lashes more volume in a long-lasting product and it’s supposed to complement the smokey eye look. I applied two coats and thought it made my lashes look longer and it stayed on all day.

LYS Beauty Speak Love Moisture Matte Lipstick in Sincere ($20) I received this moisturizing matte lipstick in the shade Sincere, a soft nude pink, which is a tad too light for my liking but otherwise felt good on my lips. It’s supposed to be hydrating, long-lasting, and plumping, but the only effect I noticed was that it was comfortable on my lips. It’s very slim, and my small lips actually prefer this applicator. I’m sure it can be paired with lip liner to deepen the shade a bit. Swatched below.

Polite Society Polite Pout Glossy Lip Balm in Pink Grapefruit ($21) To go with a moisturizing lipstick is a moisturizing gloss. This lip gloss is flavored with a hint of grapefruit and is sweetened with saccharin, so it’s extra sweet. It provides a bit of light pink color and a whole lot of gloss, but it doesn’t feel super sticky. I paired it with the lipstick above. Swatched below.

Swatched on top is the Lys Beauty lipstick in Sincere and then the Polite Society gloss in Pink Grapefruit.

TARTE Tartelette Amazonian Clay Palette in Juicy ($47 listed value, currently $20) I think I actually squealed when I saw this in the box, the shades spoke to me! I was packing for a two-week vacation and this is the only eyeshadow palette I packed, so I hoped it would work for me, and for the most part, it did! There’s a good mix of matte and shimmer shades and they are arranged in such a way that each row across is a mini palette, but they mix well with each other. I mainly used Paradise, Blossom, Reflect, Dusk, and Euphoric and occasionally picked Happiness, Petal, and Luscious (so I still have four more colors to play with). The shimmers could have shined more, the pale mattes could have been darker, and the dark mattes could have blended better, but overall I had fun with it. I kept smelling something sweet every time I opened the palette, which turns out is scented with vanilla for some reason.

Here’s the Tartelette Juicy Palette swatches! I did each row lengthwise, and as you can see (or rather, can’t see) the first shades across (Paradise, Blossom, and Reflect if looking at the palette) barely show up.

The November 2024 Ipsy Icon Box delivered some fun products, although there could have been a bit more of a variety to make it even better. I received an Elemis exfoliator and an exfoliating mask from Korres, and my skin can only take so much friction. The gel toner from Glow Recipe was fun to try, and it doubles as a serum. Amika has some of the best smelling hair care products out there, and their leave-in conditioner worked like a charm to detangle my hair quickly but without weighing my hair down. The Bobbi Brown mascara certainly boosted my lashes. I appreciated the slim case that housed my Lys lipstick, and while the Polite Society lip gloss made my lips look, um, glossy, it’s a little too much pink for November. Of course, they both paired very nicely with my favorite product of this box, the Tarte Juicy eyeshadow palette! I had a lot of fun experimenting with it on vacation and coming up with a variety of looks. I’m looking at my assortment in the picture above and it looks like colors I would find in a Spring box, lots of pale pinks and all that, but if you have a look at the insert below I think it makes sense.

The value for the assortment found in my box was around $242.

Below is the insert that was in the box!
