Ipsy Glam Bag The bag for the month seems fine for October, it’s vinyl with a crystal ball zipper pull and a print that has images of feathers, snakes, moths, and hands. The inside is lined with hot pink polyester fabric.
Hey Honey Love Your Body Shea Butter & Honey Body Lotion ($4.95) The label says this is a daily body lotion, which is just right for summer and early fall. Some of the ingredients are vegetable oil, shea butter, glycerin, and honey extract and there’s added fragrance, which smells floral, although it’s not strong or long-lasting. My skin absorbed it quickly but I think I need something richer for my dry skin.
Dew of the Gods Sorbae Mini Hyaluronic Lip Butter in Strawberry Mandarin ($8) I was expecting this lip gloss to have a base of cocoa or shea butter based on the name but instead the first two ingredients are petrolatum and mineral oil, so this is more like flavored Vaseline. It does have hyaluronic acid, but that’s the last ingredient listed. Having said all that, I liked the flavor and feel, it was classic lip gloss. I’m not sure that “one swipe lasts literally all day” as the brand states however the petite size fits well in a pocket or purse for those times I need a bit of balm.
Tarte Cosmetics Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 24-Hour Mascara ($6) This mascara claims to provide four benefits for lashes: lengthen, curl, volumize, and condition, and it’s supposed to last for 24-hours (but it’s not waterproof). I definitely noticed that my lashes looked longer after applying, but I don’t plan on wearing it for 24-hours straight, which isn’t something I care about anyways, I need my sleep! The wand was ok but the short handle made it hard to apply, but that’s the case with most trial-sized mascaras and my big ol hands and short lashes.
Moonslice Beauty Blush in Beautiful ($15 listed value) I could only find this blush on the Ipsy site or resell sites, but the brand sells a palette of 4 blushes for $20 (no size given). It’s a bright pop of bubblegum pink blush that should be applied sparingly and that doesn’t blend all that well. The color was bright on my fair-to-light skin tone and it’s not an everyday kind of color for me.
Lucky Chick Long Lasting Lip Liner Duo ($22) I received not one but TWO lip liners in my box! The shade on the left is called Lovey and it’s a “dusty nude pink” while the shade on the right is Sweetie, which is a “rich mauve”. I adored both shades! I lined my lips just outside the line with Lovey and then paired with a similar lip color and my lips actually looked a little bigger (my lips are naturally thin)! On other days I used Sweetie as an all-over lip color and topped it with gloss. The lip liner itself has a matte finish and I thought it lasted for quite a long time after application. Swatched below.

Swatched on top is Moonslice Beauty Blush in Beautiful, and swatched below that are the Lucky Chick Lip Liners in Lovey and Sweetie.

I’m always thrilled when I receive an Ipsy Glam Bag that has items I will use in my life, if not daily then at least on special occasions, and this month’s items worked well for the most part. The lotion from Hey Honey went on quickly and had a light scent that was pleasant and faded quickly. I liked both the feel and the flavor of Sorbae lip gloss from Dew of the Gods. The rest of the items were makeup and while the Moonslice blush in Beautiful wasn’t the best product for me, I was more than happy to have two wearable lip liners from Lucky Chick! Tarte has always been a solid brand for me and the Lights, Camera, Lashes certainly made my lashes look longer and it only took one swipe! The value for my box combination was around $56!
